Re: Restriction exceptions not working
I appear to be having some success.... I have a satellite service with a 15GB cap and a small fee of gold-bars per GB top up ;). I have added a number of Apple sites to the Adblock blacklist and appear to be successfully preventing app updates, iOS updates, app installs and especially automatic iclo...

Re: Problem after update 1.8->1.10 WDS systems
I understand that between your old version 1.8 and 1.9.2.x there is a fundamental config change requiring your Bridge/Repeater to be on a different subnet (even with WDS...).

Re: Can someone please explain "connected wireless hosts" / "hosts with active connection" ?
Connected Wireless Hosts are those devices with an active connection to THIS device. Hosts With Active Connections are all devices on the subnet with active connections to THIS device. This includes those connected to the copper ports and those connected to any other APs' on the network. The other r...

Re: Router availability in South Africa
Readily available and cheapest on Loot is Archer C7 - last one I bought was V2 with the newer firmware that needs you to jump through a few hoops to install it...
I also bought an AR150 on dealextreme which is super easy to set up, but took 6 weeks for delivery....

Re: Amazon Gargoyle Router
I have done a few Archer C7 V2 EU upgrades, both V2 variants. the older V2 is a bit easier than the current model - the newer model takes a few hours of Google when things go wrong (or just don't go), but once done they work fine. Mine are on a slow satellite 2Mbits link and a 20M Fibre link. On the...

Re: Archer C7 V2 Confusion
Thanks Lantis! I forgot to mention it is an EU unit...
Yes, it flashes from the original gui. The other advantage is this file is compiled with gui, so the gargoyle upgrade in the second step is also from a gui. Straight forward!

Re: Archer C7 V2 Confusion
I have the same one - I believe I used exactly the method/sequence and files you describe. I had a lot of trouble with it continually failing... I eventually found this on OpenWRT and flashed it successfully:- lede-ar71xx-generic-archer-c7-v2-squashfs-factory-eu.bin I then updated from the latest fi...

Re: Identifying additional Routers and Repeaters connected to Gargoyle Router
I have a very similar setup - without the phone issues. My phone is a simple Yealink IP phone connected to the network, IP issued by Gargoyle router. If your router/s have an AP mode, then select THAT, and connect to the WAN port. DHCP, NAT etc will be handled by Gargoyle. Mine do not.... I have set...

Re: gargoyle-ispy 2017-March-02 08:49.torrent
Upgraded Archer c7 v2 from 1.9x Jan-27 and PRESERVED SETTINGS. All worked fine... until I changed the DNS dropdown option from ISP provided servers to OpenDNS servers (I was just curious about previous issues with this). Internet went down and the GUI was inaccessible, no ping replies. Recovery was ...
