Re: gargoyle and fq_codel

You can't use codel for the qos in gargoyle, but hsfc/ sfq is much better because like mentioned, you can use caps. sqm_scripts was not too good in balancing out load- like torrents would still saturate the connection because of many multiple connections! But you can change the eth0 eth1 wlan1 wlan...

Re: Help potential Gargoyle users take the plunge

I do understand what you're saying OP. I'm no stranger to diving headfirst into a topic and just reading it til my eyes bleed, but in this particular scenario, sometimes you need a bit of "Human Experience" rather than a Wiki. I will tell you however, I have been perusing and following thi...

Depends on what you want. When I installed it, I distinctly remember just giving the option for Client PPTP not Server.

I strongly advise you use OpenVPN instead, much safer and not that complicated to set up.

QOS DOWNLOAD CLASSIFICATION RULES KEEP DISAPPEARING

Hey folks. I'm running the latest Ispy build on my WDR3600 and pretty much everything's been smooth sailing with one exception: Every time I so much as touch the Download Classes, even if it is to modify the Percentages, I lose all my Download Classification Rules. I haven't been able to reproduce t...

Re: Transmission installed and running on 1.7.1

Ispy, using Webshell and the output of mount, this is the path I used to generate the settings.json and the additional folders:

Re: My Gargoyle experience, and why I am going back to OpenW

But in theory, you could get the same QoS functionality that Gargoyle offers in OpenWRT?

I'm quite satisfied but there are tidbits (specially regarding fine-tuning Wireless Connections) that I kinda miss from DD-WRT for instance.

Re: Transmission installed and running on 1.7.1

I should add that when you configure the client, it creates a couple of folders that could fill up the router's internal memory. What I do to avoid this is edit this line in /etc/config/transmission: option config_dir '/tmp/transmission' And change it to the path of your USB drive. Once you do this,...

Re: Manual MTU, does it help with Gaming?

found some info for you here. How to find the proper MTU size http://www.tp-link.us/article/?faqid=190 pleas note this bit: Take the maximum packet size from the ping test and add 28. You add 28 bytes because 20 bytes are reserved for the IP header and 8 bytes must be allocated for the ICMP Echo Re...

Transmission installed and running on 1.7.1
