Re: Cant set new quota based on IP range

Bug is a strong word lol. You're right. I guess it's more to an "undesired system behavior due to unknowingly wrong input data format" than an actual bug  . If it wiped all current quotas due to that little detail, then maybe yes, it's a bug. String validation is an incredibly fragil...

Re: QoS Download Speeds

Just what QoS is supposed to prevent? QoS will not work as expected if your router is overloaded (random things will happen) Nothing works as expected if its overloaded 1 = overloaded All this discussion gave me an idea of an extra info field on the ACC section: CPU Load. Even though this info is a...

Re: Cant set new quota based on IP range

I don’t know if this is the same as your problem, but I saw something similar. I narrowed it down to the format of the range I was using. Short answer is dont use spaces between the ip addresses. It will work with the first range, but you may get errors after the first. For example: 192.168.1.10-19...

Re: Wi-Fi roaming assistant (between 2.4ghz and 5ghz)

Ive mocked up ideas for this. There’s a good change coming in upstream Openwrt which might enhance this as well (being able to query STAs to find their capability). Is this what " Band Steering " it's all about? Didn't know the Router/AP could do that. https://documentation.meraki.com/@ap...

Re: QoS Download Speeds

I'd also try a different ping target IP (e.g. 8.8.8.8, 1.1.1.1), as my gateway IP (default setting) didn't work quite well. http://i.imgur.com/P41SoSE.png Another thing that might be interesting to take a look at is: Try measuring your internet speed through speedtest.net app/site (as DSLReport won'...

Re: QoS configuration disappears after power loss and breaks WAN

It's seems to be a Session State Tracking issue. Don't have the Gargoyle Interface open in multiple windows or tabs. Use Gargoyle only as 1 page open and it won't happen. +1 Also, try to always keep a recent backup of your settings, so if anything goes wrong, you can always manually restore it (Win...

Re: Speed vs bufferbloat and looking for some advice...

No worries, glad I could help. 8-) To be honest, I didn't even know about the newer builds. I was using the last "stable" build from the download site. That's probably what about 95% of new users search/download it from. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. But if you'd like to keep up with...

Re: Speed vs bufferbloat and looking for some advice...

I never bothered with QoS before. I only started playing with it when I got this magicjack to handle home phones. I was worried about voice calls getting bad if I was downloading large files. Well, that necessity will depend on your household, number of devices, type of application, etc. For me, Qo...

Re: Speed vs bufferbloat and looking for some advice...

When I enable the download QoS and ACC the bufferbloat registers A. When I turn on the upload QoS it goes back to C or maybe B no matter what I set the bandwidth to. What's the "Ping Target IP" in ACC set to? Is there any reason to leave the upload QoS on given that? I don't think QoS wil...
