Re: repeater bridge channel hopping

This is a good question. I find Gargoyle options for Wireless are a little inadequate. On the AP, we should WANT to keep Channel floating. Let AP and Bridge duke it out among themselves compensating for all interference around them to use the one that performs optimally. By "float" I assum...

Re: repeater mode not working

So you have primary DSL modem with wifi. You have one Repeater working. You didn't mention if this was using Gargoyle or some other firmware, but hopefully it does not matter. For your second repeater with gargoyle, you are saying when you "scan" you see your FIRST repeater but not the DSL...

Re: Unable to connect to 2nd wireless AP joined to main rout

Trying to follow what you want to do. This looks very much like my setup but I'm not using Gargoyle for this part of the network. Anyways, it should not matter Have you tried keeping both routers on same subnet? I think that's how you want things to work at the beginning to rule out other issues. Pl...

You should leave a small note in that thread linking to this detailed thread Im not sure Eric see's every thread but I'm certain he looks at that thread I did that. Question - are you admin for the forums? Maybe *this* thread can be move to the "Wireless Issues" forum to get more attention?

Re: Ver 1.7 Channel Width of 40MHz @ 5GHz for Wireless N

Hey tapper, I think I need to brush up on my greek but I will try :D More seriously, I'm confused where the wireless tweaking is happening - at the gargoyle or at the client wireless card. In any case, I will continue to try things. However, I think it is quite obvious something is not right with ei...

Yes, I think that's the one I tried. I unzipped the 7z file and picked it up. Here's the filename I used

gargoyle_1.7.x-ar71xx-generic-mynet-n750-squashfs-sysupgrade

Ver 1.7 Channel Width of 40MHz @ 5GHz for Wireless N

Thought I would start a separate thread. On my router, I have selected N+A. I'm not able to set Channel width to either of the 40 Mhz options. When I change and save, it takes a while then comes back with 20 Mhz. This I am quite sure is preventing me from achieving highest speed available with my ro...

Re: Western Digital My Net N750 support?

Well I don't think the WD N750 is a bad router. It does run "cool". Linksys routers heat a lot which is why I looked elsewhere, not to mention the only option left for me was E4200V1 so I could run as a client bridge and get 450 mbps. I got the WD for $16 shipped. No way I could get any ot...
