Re: Experimental Gargoyle 1.15.x beta 20230124
Hi Lantis, for the last test, I was in server mode and didn't specify a client yet. I tried again, this time with a client specified, but the logfile was again being flooded with error messages. Is it trying to start the server prior to finishing the initialization of the keys? [edit] Half an hour l...

Re: Experimental Gargoyle 1.15.x beta 20230124
@ektus Did you upgrade the firmware or fresh install and then re-program? No update. Fresh install on all routers as the version gap was way too large. I was coming from 1.11 and 1.12, respectively. On the main router, I did copy over some OpenVPN-related files and manually edited the dhcp file, bu...

Re: Experimental Gargoyle 1.15.x beta 20230124
The OpenVPN errors are flooding the logfile. Disabling the defunct OpenVPN server again solves that particular problem. This secondary Archer is running in Wireless Bridge/Repeater mode. It works, but on the System/Router Access page, I get a red warning telling me Web Access Web Admin Protocol: [ht...

Re: Experimental Gargoyle 1.15.x beta 20230124
Tried to copy over the existing config, but got no working openVPN Server yet. It's running, but can't decode the connection request. So I let it be, installed this version on another Archer C7 V5 and tried to setup openVPN Server from scratch on that one. Big failure at the very beginning when init...

Re: Experimental Gargoyle 1.15.x beta 20230124
Just a short feedback: Installed the version from February 26th, 2023 successfully on 1) one of my TP-Link TL-WR1043ND V2 routers (sysupgrade), but had to revert back due to problems with my reverse wifi bridge setup. 2) my spare Archer C7 V5 (factory) in order to prepare it for main router duty. Wo...

Re: Need Help Setting Up Repeater - And Some Teaching
Okay, so I'm back on 1.7.x for the time being. The reason for this reverse setup is that while the small WR702N can operate as WiFi Client, I've had issues with the stability of the connection and no means of restarting it remotely. By moving the initiator of the bridge into the main network, I have...

Re: Need Help Setting Up Repeater - And Some Teaching
It's in reverse from the diagram on the wiki page: https://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/doku.php?id=bridge_repeater The middle one is running Gargoyle in bridge mode. In my setup, the main router is located to the right. 192.168.0.180: Main Router, Internet Gateway. In the Diagram this would be 192....

Re: Need Help Setting Up Repeater - And Some Teaching
I'm struggling with this after updating the router from 1.7.x to 1.15.x. This router acts as a bridge to a remote wifi access point. The network topology is as follows: [main router 192.168.0.180] ---LAN--- [bridge router 192.168.0.174, LAN port] ---WiFi bridge--- [remote router/ap 192.168.0.173 in ...

Re: The future of Gargoyle in 2022
(c) has prevented me from updating for a long time now, but I'm still running all compatible routers with Gargoyle. I simply like the interface and ease of use, and currently can get by without IP V6 and the main router (Archer C7) is fast enough. When buying a new router I generally don't consider ...
