Re: Tor Hidden Service

Thanks for the responses. I eventually used trickbyte as the smartdns provider and can confirm it works well with iplayer and itv hub. SmartDNSProxy also works. Trickbyte also provide vpn which is compatible with openvpn but i am only going to start looking at that now that i have upgraded to 1.12

Re: Version 1.12.0 : New stable version

Worked perfectly upgrading WRT1200AC v1 with Gargoyle 1.11.X (Built 20180818). I didnt attempt to preserve settings. I have encounted a space issue with my other router acting as an AP - TP-Link WR1043ND v2.1 with Gargoyle 1.10. I had a backup 3TB drive on this and now it looks like i cannot have th...

Re: Could i replace or add custom minidlna fork ?

Thanks Lantis,

When you say patch do you mean to compile the minidlna fork independently and swap it over any compiled modules over existing minidlna installed ?

Could i replace or add custom minidlna fork ?

Just wondering if this would be a flier or not. I would like to investgate if i could use a different minidlna fork to create a new plugin to the one provided. https://github.com/timehlers/minidlna The reason i would like to do this is to see if i could attach a DVB-T usb tuner to my gargoyle router...

Re: Minidlna Persistence over Reboots ?

It is of sorts, the /etc/config/minidlna config file lists all media dirs that were specified. It takes the first one specified so i guess to be claner i should have put Movies and TVShows into a /Media folder. So if i extract /tmp/usb_mount/UUID from this file thats what i check for around starting...

Re: Minidlna Persistence over Reboots ?

Lantis, Although i think it still makes sense to change the start order It appears to only work intermittantly ! I dont know why, it shouldnt make any difference but i have 2 usb drives (16gb -usbpowered/3tb -ac powered) Anyhow, i have had to remediate by killing minidlna process unmounting usb star...

Re: Minidlna Persistence over Reboots ?

Well the START reorder appears to have done the trick :D
This seems to be the most straight forward fix so far.
If i find any issues with this in subsequent reboots i will update this thread.

Re: Minidlna Persistence over Reboots ?

Ok, this occurred again when i had to restart due to reports of wifi aint working dad !!! I did kill the minidlna process but when i tried to remount usb by issuing /etc/init.d/fstab stop followed by /etc/init.d/fstab start i got an error saying "this file has been obsoleted. please call /sbin/...

Re: Minidlna Persistence over Reboots ?

Lantis, Here is my stab at a generic filewatch script with timeout I will modify /etc/init.d/minidlna and hardcode around the line service_start /usr/bin/minidlna -f "$MINIDLNA_CONFIG_FILE" for now to achieve what i want. I guess ideally it should be put into its own function, where the ac...

Re: Minidlna Persistence over Reboots ?

I have no preference for the fix itself. If its a case that minidlna is getting started before usb drive is ready on occassion then i guess the best approach would be not to autostart minidlna and avert the OMG wheres my 2.7TB feeling :  Im usually restarting manually so i could do it but its p...
