as what Lantis said there is no openwrt or gargoyle images however based on the routers chipsets, https://wikidevi.com/wiki/D-Link_DWL-3600AP I can see is a broadcom 47xx device https://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/brcm47xx but you will have to be willing to open up and use the serial port....

Im using this build on a TL-WDR3600 V1.5 and i have notced the web gui is slow at responding sometime it will timeout however 1.8.0 never used to do this.
