Re: TP_LINK 841N v7 migration from openwrt lede to Gargoyle ?

Well I'll try it , but i am going to uprade to newer TP-Link router with at least 1 usb port and 5Ghz wifi .Used C5 model is on my top list for now about 80 usd cost , is this a good choice ? It may be, if it's a supported version. Version 1.2 is, version 2.0 is not. There's limited support in Lede...

Re: Internet (WAN) via DHCP wireless

What are the exact steps to reproduce? Do you need to be connected first? Is it a rescan only? - connected via DHCP wireless (that's the normal mode of operation of this production router) - "SCAN" to populate the list (without, only the connected SSID is visible, no list - newly created ...

Re: Internet (WAN) via DHCP wireless

I can’t reproduce this. I can. After running a scan, there are multiple duplicate entries in the list. The list currently has 48 entries (including "other"), while spectrum analyser shows a total 10 networks in the 2.4GHz band. I can provide a screenshot and correspondimg "iw wlan1 s...

Re: Alive and kicking for 728 days!

One of my routers has reached 728 days. It's running as a dumb switch and AP-client to wirelessly connect a remote part of the local network.

I tested the exact same settings and it behaved as expected. Is your client misbehaving? I don't know, but with three different clients (Win XP, Win 7 and Android)? Unlikely. Has there been an update of the kernel or smb module, perhaps trying to enforce password protection and/or encryption? There...

Re: Blocking UDP and IP Ports

Old thread, current problem: I want to block UDP access to two distinct external ports while allowing everything else for one device on my network. Is there a way to achieve this with the GUI? I've seen the device contacting at least 30 different external IPs, so adding all of them would be cumberso...

Re: gargoyle-ispy 2017-December-22 08:13

Okay, got a spare USB stick (4GB) to test. It works with 1.10.0 but doesn't with 1.10.X, same as before. Deleting the share and creating a new one didn't change anything. Still only the root directory visible, access denied to files and folders. Current SMB.CONF, created with 1.10.X: [global] netbio...

Re: gargoyle-ispy 2017-December-22 08:13

Have you tried setting up the config from scratch on 1.10.x? your config looks incompatible with the changes that occurred. I would try this first. I'm a little reluctant at doing so, as when I was first configuring it, I somehow lost access soon after copying the data and upon re-entering the conf...

Re: gargoyle-ispy 2017-December-22 08:13

It's a very basic share, no passwords or users apart from the default anonymous, with full access from the local network. It has been installed just a couple months ago, replacing a 10+ year old dedicated NAS. Can you please provide your exact settings so I can test? Sure. Currently working install...
