Re: Best settings for gaming QoS+DSCP
This is interesting since while Gargoyle is great for dispersing load evenly, just using QoS alone doesn't seem to be giving me the most effective result for QoS Prioritisation of Real Time Traffic. Reading through the DiffServ spec now (It's a lot to get my head around since I'm also quite new to t...

New DNS Service: nextdns.io
The first cloud-based private DNS service that gives you full control over what is allowed and what is blocked on the Internet. Block Ad Servers, Social Services, Black Lists, White Lists and use Rewrites.
Currently in Beta but looks pretty interesting.

Thanks Gargoyle Team
I upgraded with No Preserve.
UI wouldn't allow DHCP Assignments to be Saved.
Reset, Reconfigured.
All OK after Reset.
QoS Rules are different from the Ruleset Update Thread.

Re: Router Speed tests
Have we got something like a CPU base line expectation when QoS is enabled to ensure no lapse in throughput? For example: for every 1 Mbps throughput you would need 8.5 MHz of CPU For 25 Mbps you'd need a 212 MHz CPU or greater (25 x 8.5 =212) For 50 Mbps you'd need a 425 MHz CPU or greater etc For ...

Re: Total Bandwidth not remembered on restore/upgrade
They are the defaults, can't remember the exact place it gets pulled from but you need to set them after an update or even after disabling QoS.
uci set qos_gargoyle.download.total_bandwidth=25000 && uci commit qos_gargoyle && /etc/init.d/qos_gargoyle restart

Re: Adding firewall rule erases config
Do you have more than 1 instance of Web pages logged into the Router? This happens with the QoS Settings so I'd assume it may be the same reason for the same issue occurring on the Firewall page.

Re: Republic wireless QOS rules
yes, and that is very helpful to see the list of connection. But on a busy network it's fairly difficult to find all relevant connections. Would be nice to have some sort of filtering ability... maybe by IP or port or class ? I'd love to see this too, it would be amazing for diagnosing QoS Class or...

Re: Poor Wifi Performance on Device - 1.10
Ignoring driver issues for a second… On Channel 149 you're in the UNII-3 band set in which higher frequencies tend to be used by radar, weather stations, and the military etc. You may be better to choose something in the UNII-1 domestic range (36, 40, 44, 48). Are you also using wideband channels (4...
