Re: TP-LINK TL-WR740N not working after installing Gargoyle
We need to know a little more about your network setup to help.
Missing DNS is just indicative of a broken Internet connection (ie you already know that)
I am guessing but this link might help https://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/do ... ario-modem

Re: Mac address list with names
maybe i am not understanding the previous&my post.. the bandwidth Quota seems to require an IP.. (not a MAC#) You should be able to create a known-device which gives a name to a MAC address; and create a device-group which gives a name to a collection of know-devices. Once this is done you shou...

Re: Mac address list with names
Especially using MAC#'s instead of static/IP base for the individual IP bandwidth Quota settings... please implement. ;) Yes I believe you have interpretted it correctly and yes it has been implemented. You can play with it now if you like from https://github.com/nworbnhoj/gargoyle/blob/bleeding-ed...

Re: Connective problems without WAN port
Is there any trick around this ? Or do I really need to use the WAN port as an internet link to get this running ? Rather a lot of Gargoyle functionality relies on having Internet connectivity via that WAN port I also have a USB stick working as /dev/sda2 It works for TOR and CIFS but how do I CD t...

Re: quota and mac addresses
Try adding a single line to your gargoyle_firewall_util.sh file iptables -t filter -A lease_mismatch_check -s "$ip" -m mac ! --mac-source "$mac" -j REJECT immediately below the existing similar "iptables" line in your post so that it looks like for p in $pairs ; do loca...

Re: Router for Huawei e3372
I chose to step up from the TL-WR1043ND to the TL-WDR3600 and am very happy with it.

Re: quota and mac addresses
OK so that is weird - up until now I trusted man * I have just tested on my TL-WDR3600 and indeed iptables -t filter -A lease_mismatch_check -s "$ip" -m mac ! --mac-source "$mac" -j REJECT Is the only syntax discussed above that does not raise an error from iptables after /etc/in...
