Re: QoS Slowdown

Another thought. What's some alternatives to the standard QoS rules? I *think* that the more rules one has, the slower the throughput will be so minimising the number of rules may increase the overall speed. Effectively, I have a few types of devices on my network: VoIP box at a particular IP A part...

Re: QoS Slowdown

basically zero chance sorry. https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/11779 basically the implementation is too broken/messy to even attempt. Which just causes arguments between devs/users. It may happen eventually but i don't think it is even on the development radar currently. An interesting thread to read...

Re: QoS Slowdown

Thanks, disabling ACC improved the speed to 50000 kbps, so not too bad.

I know that gargoyle uses software nat but the 4300 using stock has a hardware nat option that I don't think is used by Gargoyle nor OpenWRT.

Any chance that could be implemented and would it make a difference?

QoS Slowdown

I've setup my QoS to enable watching streaming movies without buffering as well as enabling gaming (with ACC on). I note that the max speed of my connection (up/down) without any router in place is 1193/100273 kbps (I'm on cable). With the router in place with no QoS is 1100/72000 kbps and with QoS ...

Re: gargoyle-ispy 2015-November-07 21:28.torrent

Yup, I have enabled QOS both upload and download and set limits at about 90%.

If I ssh to the router are there any commands I can run to provide some status that it's working properly.

Re: gargoyle-ispy 2015-November-07 21:28.torrent

Any ideas? Does the same thing happen with the Nov 04 build? I notice that one seems to work better on my router Never tried the 04 build. From memory, there were a few other problems with it that 07 fixed, so I flashed 07. I'm wondering whether the official 1.9.0 release is much different from the...

Re: gargoyle-ispy 2015-November-07 21:28.torrent

I also note that DSL Reports indicates I have a buffer bloat problem. I thought that OpenWRT and Gargoyle had code to prevent this? If so, is it turned on by default or do I need to do something?

Re: gargoyle-ispy 2015-November-07 21:28.torrent

I've been experimenting for a few days now and there are some screwy behaviours with WiFi, at least on my Nexus 6 running Marshmallow. I'm about 3m from my AP TP-Link 901ND running stock firmware and 3m from my TP-Link 4300 running this version of Gargoyle. If I connect to the AP, I always get 144 M...

Re: gargoyle-ispy 2015-November-07 21:28.torrent

Was your internet down at the time? Because while one of those addresses is indeed unreachable, the rest are fine. No it was not down. However, I've had the syslog on lots of times on different gargoyle releases and I've never seen those messages before. Just a pointer to something working not quit...

Re: Versions 1.9.0 & 1.8.1

1.9.0,TP-Link TL-WR941N/ND v3 at begining everything worked fine. after hours using, something went wrong. internet got stuck. local network seems fine. can't find out what happen, turn to use 1.8.1 now. Similar to my problem I believe on a TL-WDR4300. Will work for some time and then dropouts occur.
