Re: Bandwidth distribution reading very low compared to ISP

Even so, it does seem odd that only I would be having these problems with Gargoyle. I try to only run stable builds, but I'm wondering if I should just re-flash with 1.9.1 and see how that goes for a while. If you don't use L7 protocol for QoS, 1.9.1 is probably better. The moderators here have bee...

Install the logread plugin and read the log but I am not sure if you can see anything useful there.

Re: Slow / Congested ....

If you are using default DNS, i.e. as supplied by your ISP, try change it to Google DNS 8.8.8.8 or OpenDNS. It could be your ISP DNS causing the problem.

You can change it at the Gargoyle router or your computer. It is easier to nail down the problem if you change it on your computer end for testing.

Sounds like DNS related.

This is approx the maximum you can get on WiFi unless you use 802.11AC. The Gargoyle router you are using don't have enough cpu power to sustain 100Mbps internet connection anyway. See the benchmark threads for more info.

Re: Bandwidth distribution reading very low compared to ISP

Here's another metric; Gargoyle says that my laptop alone used 165 GB of data in May, but in July it reports a mere 3.59 GB. Time for you to run some diagnostic on your computer to see what exactly your laptop is doing with those data. Virus infection is one of the reason data usage remains high if...

Re: TL-WR1043ND - Repeater

Looks like the reason is because you have them in a different subnet. Just put them under the same subnet and they will be able to talk to each other, i.e. you need to disable DHCP in your repeater.

I assume you are connecting to port 443 or 8888 from Internet (WAN)? If so, most likely it is your ISP blocking those ports. Check that first.

Re: Please assist: Route forwarding from Wan router network

Disable the DHCP on your Gargyole router. You shouldn't be running DHCP on your Gargyole router when acting as client, this will cause you to have two subnet on your network and they can't talk to each other, i.e. exactly the problem you have.
