Understanding QoS
I've been researching and testing QoS today and am hoping to get help with my understanding of it. I thought I understood it, but then my experience is not what I expected. I've read lots in the documentation and forums, so a big THANKS for providing a ton of great info! Sorry if this is an obvious ...

Re: Devices think Gargoyle is a hotspot
iPhone and Windows PC. Haven't tried on Android or Mac. Seems like its something to do with the QOS (upload). Worth noting: I didn't change any settings on QOS (upload). Only turned it on. Later, I removed all settings for QOS (upload), and started from scratch. Same problem with both scenarios. My ...

Devices think Gargoyle is a hotspot
When I make a setup with both QUOTA and QOS (upload), those devices can no longer connect to the internet, but instead think it is a hotspot (those devices can't connect to the internet but are instead directed to gstatic.com/generate_204 or captive.apple.com, depending on the device). BUT when only...

Guest Newtork as the only wireless option
I have a Guest Network set up as a second SSID, but I really don't need the first non-guest SSID (I want all wireless traffic to go through this guest network SSID). Is there a way to disable the non-guest wireless SSID? I don't see a way in the GUI, but perhaps that is just for simplicity. Or perha...

Re: DIR-615 download available
Appreciate the idea, and although that might be part of the situation, there's something more going on, because, just to clarify: There are NO downloads available for my D-link DIR-615 in the Download section. Not for ANY version. Luckily somebody in the forums was kind enough to give a direct link ...

Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!
D-Link DIR-615 rev. C1
Works excellent with 1.6.2.
Appears to be working well with 1.9.0 as well!
It is worth noting that the download link is NOT visible in the "Download" section, but you can find the link in the forums.

DIR-615 download available
Hi, I was wondering why the DIR-615 router is not available to download in the Download section, YET I was able to find the download link for 1.6.2 on a forum post (and it works great!). I'm trying to find 1.7.x for the DIR-615 so that I can have a guest zone, but I am unable to find the download fo...

Re: D-Link DIR-615 rev. C1 recommendations
Thanks a lot! I'll give it a shot :) I see that version 1.8 does not have a download available for my dir-615 router. Any idea of what I should do? I only found 1.6.2 in a forum thread that someone had the download link to, because it's missing from the Download section for some reason, https://www....

Hey guys, Router: D-Link DIR-615 rev. C1 RAM: 32MB Flash: 4MB I followed advice to start with Gargoyle 1.6.2, and it works AMAZINGLY well. I am loving Gargoyle. I was just wondering: I was recommended to start with Gargoyle version 1.6.2. The documentation says that 4MB is considered "Bare mini...

Re: Hostnames and IP changes
Ha! Thanks. Now I feel stupid. I read other posts that seemed to imply that wouldn't solve the problem. I stand corrected.
