Re: Yet another "what is the best router for Gargoyle"

If I'm getting routers to test/use - I'll pick up 2 of them One for a stable working One for backup/testing OpenWRT trunk builds Also in case I bad-flash one or something happens to one, I have the spare backup Now I know some people can't afford to do this and if so, you REALLY shouldn't be flashin...

Re: TL-WR1043ND V2.1

You need to try the OpenWRT Barrier Breaker 14.07 release Try stock OpenWRT firmware on your router If there are still issues, you may have a newer hardware revision of your 2.1 router and you may need to wait for better hardware support through OpenWRT before Gargoyle will work correctly on your ro...

Re: Version 1.7.0 - Barrier Breaker

Does the 5Ghz on Archer C7 Ver.2 work? I installed the last Ispy but can't see 5Ghz in Wireless config. Is this normal? http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wdr7500 See that post Since Gargoyle has OpenWRT underneath, the latest Gargoyle builds are on Barrier Breaker, which only has 2.4 GHZ suppo...

Re: Internet connection speed -25%

Stock images are made by the manufacturer SPECIFICALLY for each router and tuned for each model of router. Gargoyle is based on OpenWRT, which is made to run on MULTIPLE types of routers, but not necessarily tuned for each router. Besides that, you're adding more features that stock routers have. Mo...

See that post

1.4.7 would be your best bet

If you want to try - you could also try 1.5.6

1.5.7 and up uses attitude adjustment which causes
memory issues with 4mb flash/16mb ram devices

Re: Settings lost on reboot

Some 4MB devices may not work with Gargoyle with 1.7 upwards Even though you have a 4MB stated flash rom, you don't always have 4MB of flash space available Depending on the manufacturer, some have special recovery modes and other parts of the flash allocated, so the max flash size you can flash can...

Re: Unable to change Wireless MAC address

I've never messed with the MAC addresses but I believe the wireless
one is derived from the main Hardware MAC address.

You might need to change the main MAC address in order to change
the Wireless MAC as well.

Re: Asus RT-N12-D1 firmware installation fail

http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/asus/rt-n12d1

Not supported with Gargoyle yet

Gargoyle is based on OpenWRT

OpenWRT has support for the RT-N12-D1 on the TRUNK version

Trunk is compile-yourself versions - work in progress

Will be a while before Gargoyle supports the RT-N12-D1
