Re: 1.5.5 wr1043nd backup / restore
Backupped with 1.5.5, switched lot of things and tryied to restore the old backup. This results in a hang with no further effect. Have not tested this with previous versions.

Re: Transmit Power on TL-WR1043ND
The atheros 7x chipset is an active part. It measures the quality while sending and reduce power when signal is ugly. If you plug high gain antenna and set full power, the chip itself responds with lowering output. Hardwired in silicone to prevent manipulation. Somewhere in dd-wrt forums you can fin...

WAN Port to LAN (flat L2 Switch)
Please add a simple button like in tomato 1.28 (WR54GL) that disable WAN (NAT Function) and offer the WAN Port to the LAN Switch. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-77TlUM5qc8M/UBbVnAC_DWI/AAAAAAAAANE/gC0cnwMMEAo/s288/toma.jpg As side effect this button disables the firewall, nothing else happens. T...

Re: 1043ND Add WAN Port to Switch?
Ended up in heavy problems, switch config bombed out. Good luck that i can ssh over wifi for repair.
Next question: Is it possible to have a wireless ap like before but bridged or dumb lan? With settings like in your link i end up in a forced wifi repeater, but no basic ap functionality.

1.5.5 wr1043nd backup / restore
Just took a backup from my 1.5.5 and now tried to restore that to repair bogus settings. The browser runs into the whirling logo, after 30mins i have reload. Same bogus at before, nothing happens, not even a router restart. Please someone else check the backup / restore function to see if this is a ...

1043ND Add WAN Port to Switch?
Hello,
have 1.5.5 on my 1043ND now. Is it possible to add the WAN Port to the Switch? Found a openwrt manual 'dumb ap' that points only to the WNDR3700. There is a changed line in /etc/config/network
option ifname 'eth0.1 eth0'
Are these the same interface names in my 1043nd?
Bye

Re: Howto LAN Bridge?
In my 1.4.7 there is only an option for a wifi bridge, which version do i need? The cable provider is turning to IPv6 this year, sometimes testing with emulation and tunnels. They only guarantee that on the lan side of cablerouter a IPv4 is available. So at the moment a gargoyle bridge will be a tem...

Howto LAN Bridge?
Hello,
got a cablerouter from my provider, so NAT and DHCP is before the WAN Port of my gargoyle (stable) 1043ND. Is it possible to switch gargoyle to lan bridge mode. So the data should pass like a simple switch.
At the moment i have double nat and as assumed mtu problems from this.
Bye
