Re: Pre installed router not connecting
Are you sure router is on 192.168.0.1? Is automatic IP configuration (DHCP) enabled at you computer. Do you get IP from router? Open command prompt and execute ipconfig command. Look at default gateway option and see if IP of it is 192.168.0.1 and what IP you get.

Re: Firmware 1.6.1 (stable) unstable on Linksys WRT54GL
Gargoyle switched to OpenWRT Attitude Adjustment branch on version 1.5.7 which requires atleast 32MB of RAM. As far as I know WRT54GL routers only have 16MB of RAM. You could try to use 1.5.6 version of Gargoyle, which is the last version that uses Barrier Breaker branch and it only needs 16MB of RAM.

Re: Blocking Viber & Whatsapp
The easiest way to block these apps is by using restriction section. I think you will have to block them one by one. You don't have to make whitelist, just block what you want and that's it.
You could also add iptables to /etc/firewall.user and then use cron to activate them on specific hours.

Re: New L7 Pattern don't show in GUI
You have to give them name in l7index file, like: facebook facebook, where second word is name, which you will see in Gargoyle GUI.
You don't have to reboot router to use new l7 protocols.

Re: Blocking Viber & Whatsapp
You said you know IP adresses that these applications use, so block them in restriction section using Remote IP option.

Re: New L7 Pattern don't show in GUI
As far as I can understand you created youtube.pat and facebook.pat in /etc/l7-protocols directory. What lines did you add to l7index file?
