Re: Need Help Regarding ping spikes

Gargoyle isn't meant to be perfect though. If someone is downloading while im playing i still get ping spikes into the 200s.

Re: help with managing upload

There was recently an entire thread about prioritising ACK. I dot have time to locate it at the moment but it included examples. Ah yes I found it. Unfortunately I have already tried the suggestions in that thread. I just don't get why maxing my upload completely screws the internet over where as d...

Re: Uploads slowing down the internet even with QOS

Can I revive this thread again?

Can gargoyle stop the internet slowing down to dial up when there is upstream traffic that is only 0.6Mbps speed? Even if I upload at half the speed, the downstream slows down and pings go nuts.

Re: help with managing upload

Well from google searching i believe i have to make a QoS rule on giving ACK packets priority. I think, since it uses TCP i will have to make a rule on the download and upload sections too.

How do i set this up?

Re: help with managing upload

No, what I want is, when someone uploads, the download link not to suffer like speeds plummeting down to dial up and pings going crazy.

help with managing upload

I've had alot of QoS problems in the past, and now i see the problem is upload. Ive done alot of googling on this, and im not sure if the gargoyle firmware can help with this. When there is upload that involves TCP traffic (which is basically everything non gaming) my internet slows down to dial up ...

Re: QoS locking speeds down

I just wish that ACC was more dynamic in how it handles things. I think thats what screws me over. When the link speed gets lowered, it takes aaaaaages to get the link limit back up. Load up a download, but the link limit takes its sweet ass time going back up.

Re: QoS locking speeds down

Well i notice that the only way to stop the ACC from lowering link limit is to use default ping target (which is the modem) and since the modem is on LAN the filtered and normal ping never jumps around. Not sure if having LAN ping target benefits or not. But as per the guide, its not always recommen...

Re: QoS locking speeds down

Shutting off acc makes things worse though. It might not seem like much because you have so much more speed compared to my 3Mbps. How much more bandwidth can I actually remove from my limited connection? When the link becomes saturated, pings in game go much higher with acc off. Also yes I have trie...
