Re: QOS Destination vs Source port

I have a bit more of a confusing situation and could use some claraifcation on src and dest ports for QOS. Example... I run a bitcoin full node inside my network. Therfore I have bi directional traffic going on... essentially BOTH client and server are operating on the same ports in reverse directio...

Re: ACC Bandwidth max decreases from speed tests but wont increase?

UPDATE! I upgraded to 1.9.2 and the experience is completely different. Where before the "ping" and "filtered ping" would track almost identically during a bandwidth test, with 1.9.2 the filtered ping is much more stable. When ping temporarily jumps up really high for the first 2...

ACC Bandwidth max decreases from speed tests but wont increase?

I have made an observation, not necessarily a bug, but curious. Router: wndr3700v1 with gargoyle 1.8 ACC enabled, QOS on up and down (rules available if desired) What I have noticed is that the max bandwidth (fair link limit) decreases appropriately when using speed tests during the "busy"...

DSL bandwidth always starts low and climbs?

I have been toying with the QOS inside gargoyle for a few years. great stuff! But There is one consistent finding on my own DSL line that I just dont understand. I will explain as well as I can: router: gargoyle 1.8.2 on netgear wndr 3700 ISP: centurylink dsl 10M/768K QOS: 3 basic rules, ACC active ...

Re: Monitoring non-local subnet

Gargoyle is intended for use with a single subnet and there is no plan to change that. If you use more then somethings may work and somethings may not. In your case it seems to me that the simplest thing to do is to get everything on one subnet. If you do that the monitors will work. That is what I...

Re: CoExisting with Spread Spectrum 2.4Ghz video camera

It's out of Gargoyles hands. You're talking about the fundamentals of wireless transmission and the operation of the drivers. There is some control over some parameters if you set them manually. Retry rates, timeout etc. https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/uci/wireless Without understanding them you may c...

Re: CoExisting with Spread Spectrum 2.4Ghz video camera

Yes I believe you are correct. Based on failed transmissions and receives from clients, as well as data it pulls from the spectrum, it lowers its rates until it can perform with minimal errors. I wonder if there a benefit to having a second mode... one that tries to force higher rates at the cost o...

Re: Monitoring non-local subnet

In github @ericpaulbishop noted that is is not technically possible because the Linksys NAT hides the goings on on the "linksys router lan side = 192.168.2.1 subnet 192.168.2.0" https://github.com/ericpaulbishop/gargoyle/issues/526 I know this is an old post, just wanted to make a followu...

Re: CoExisting with Spread Spectrum 2.4Ghz video camera

You can't beat wireless interference unless you can move it or remove it. Get a 5GHz access point and move all of your devices to it, or consider different cameras. Sorry, it's unfortunately that simple. Yes, that is the long term goal. Not possible at the moment. So in the mean time I find it fasc...

Re: CoExisting with Spread Spectrum 2.4Ghz video camera

Hi mate. First thing i would do is upgrade to 1.9.2 as there is a lot of bugs fixt. If you do flash then pleas don't save any settings, it's a pane i know but it will save you a lot of trouble in the end! If you have trouble after that post back and we can have a look at any settings for your Wi-Fi...
