Re: Gargoyle-ispy 2014-April-28.7z

scrmtrey, I used WinSCP to edit rc.local, this is not the problem. The problem is that the line echo 1 >/sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/ath9k/disable_ani results in an error because there are no permissions to create a file there. sysinit: /etc/rc.local: line 4: can't create /sys/kernel/debug/ieee8...

Re: Gargoyle-ispy 2014-April-28.7z

Hello n0pin, thanks for the hint on how to disable ANI! I assume the line "echo 1 >/sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/ath9k/disable_ani" needs to be added before the "exit 0" line, right? just to confirm: the copmplete /etc/rc.local looks like this now: # Put your custom commands h...

openSSL heartbleed vulnerability

I suppose https access and the openVPN connections are affected by the bug. While I do not use https acces I use openVPN on my router. In the openVPN support forum they say: "Client/server connections that utilize TLS auth, and the keys have been kept secure, are also safe, as they prevent a ne...

configuration: MAC filter policy

When I want to add a new wireless device I temporarily disable MAC filtering. But disabling MAC filtering also means that all the entered MAC addresses are gone too. Why can't they just stay in place although MAC filtering is diasbled? Maybe I just disabled the filter temporarily to add a new device...

Backup/Restore settings incomplete

I have noticved by chance that the restore settings function does not restore all settings. For example the OpenVPN certificates are gone after an update without preserving settings and a restore of the saved configuration. This is somewhat uncomfortable as I have to update the certificates on all t...

Re: OpenVPN issues

you have to add it manually to the client configuration file:

dhcp-option DNS 10.8.0.1

if your OpenVPN server is at 10.8.0.1

Button Request

I have a feature request: The WNDR3700 v1 has two buttons on the front. One is used for enabling and disabling WIFI in the stock firmware (long press, >1s). The other one is the WPS key. Using Gargoyle the buttons do not seem to be used at all. And the other thing is the USB LED. When connected to a...

Re: Version 1.5.11 - Translations

The menu entries are stored in the gargoyle global settings file /etc/config/gargoyle, and you can either manually edit this file or use the uci utility to update the "display" section of this file. The easiest way to remove the Tor menu is to run the following command from the command li...

Sometimes it doesn't work

reflash with default, then program
Isn't there any faster way of removing the menu entry instead of reflashing/reconfiguring the router? Where does it store the menu entries?
