It appears to have been back ported into 23.05 after 23.05.2, so possibly a little closer to being supportable in Gargoyle than if it were only in main snapshots.

From what I can see you don't appear to have the expected ext4 partition on /dev/sda? so it hasn't mounted anything from the USB drive as root. Had a power outage? "read only file system" sounds like said filesystem has corruption of some sort that precludes mounting it read-write. Not unusual with unclean shutdowns.
