Buffer Bloat
I have noticed that dsl reports buffer bloat test ( http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest ) shows that there is significant buffer bloat with 1.8.0. I had thought that OpenWRT had code to reduce buffer bloat? Is that true or does one have to install additional plugins? Are there any setting changes fo...

Re: ETA for CC
Excellent! A Sept/Oct release is fine with me. With raw CC I had 150Mbits/sec on 2.4 to my Nexus 6 versus only about 60Mbits/sec with BB. One suggestion (though not sure how much difference it will make), it would be good from Gargoyle to be able to set the max distance that WiFi needs to work. I be...

ETA for CC
What's the ETA for Chaos Calmer? I tried CC 15.05 released in Sept and it performed really well (wireless is fixed on TP-Link WDR4300) but the user interface is really poor. I don't really want to learn the full details of UCI and iptables to be able to configure some simple firewall rules. I also t...

Re: TL-WR1043ND won't stay connected to wifi wan
I've a similar problem with a TP-Link TL-WDR4300. On a reset everything is ok. However, after a couple of days, the 2.4GHz wireless will fail to connect. I have another wireless access point as well connected to the router and it's fine as is all the wired connections to the router. My mobile phone ...

Re: gargoyle-ispy 2015-April-20 05:38.torrent
I second ispyisail's comments. I went from a tp-link 1043nd to a tp-link wdr 4300 and there is a big difference in throughput. However, I remember something mentioned that indicated AA was faster than BB for the same configuration, even for a really basic configuration (no firewall rules, no QoS, et...

Re: gargoyle-ispy 2015-April-20 05:38.torrent
What's the main benefits between the latest release and 1.6.2? 1.6.2 has been performing nicely for me except for a couple of minor points: > Range is ok but I think it's better with stock > Getting dual channel n to work seems to be troublesome. I can get some of my devices to connect at 270mbits o...

Blocking DNS Changes
I am in need of blocking certain machines on the network from changing their DNS but others can. I've created the following rule that I think says, block all DNS traffic execpt for DNS traffic to the opendns servers. Have I constructed it right?

Re: Version 1.7.0 - Barrier Breaker
Eric, I just thought I would pen a quick thank you note for all the effort you put into 1.7.0. I have yet to upgrade but once a few of the bugs are ironed out I will so. I also decided today to make a donation to the project. I was thinking how much I use Gargoyle and shudder at going back to stock ...

Re: Version 1.7.0 - Barrier Breaker
I assume the best approach to use for the upgrade is to:
- Reset to factory defaults first
- Upgrade firmware from 1.6.2 to 1.7.0 and DO NOT preserve settings
- Re-setup the router
