Re: Find IP address of modem

Login into the Gargoyle router web console.

Once you have logged in, the default Status / Overview page will be shown. It will show the ip address of the GATEWAY which gargoyle is using, which is your Netgear box.
WAN Gateway IP: 192.168.x.1

Re: foreign ip address on active connection.

You might have to restart the router to force the clients to use the new setting. I am not sure.

Re: foreign ip address on active connection.

On the Connection>>Basic page, you can specify that the router should only use the Google DNS servers, and to "Force Clients To Use Router DNS Servers". Try that and see what happens.

Re: Does Gargoyle 1.6 support TP-Link MR3020

I have used this router for both Gargoyle (various versions) and for OpenWRT and it works fine for me. It is small and runs nice and cool.

It is a standard 4MB machine, so there is not a whole lot of extra space for other plugins. I am not sure if the USB plugin would fit.

Re: foreign ip address on active connection.

Is it listed in the status session as a DNS sever for your router?

What does your ISP say?

Try backing up all the files. Tell us how it goes. I am curious if it works.

Minor visual oddity of the navigation menu

For some reason the " Status " topic heading on the left hand navigation column is slighly offset to the right when it is not directly selected. OffsetStatus.JPG You can see this also on the login screen. I noticed. I have now reported. I suspect this does not justify an emergency patch re...

Re: Gargoyles bricks when power cycled. With vpn active.

How long is it between when your VPN client machine restarts and you start using it.

Suggestion: Restart it and then wait for 30+ minutes. See if the connection happens smoothly

Re: Router Hacked?

Was the router originally from Huawei? I do not see any on the list of downloads.

Try disconnecting the Gargoyle router from the Internet, and connect it just to the PC. See if you get the normal connection to Gargoyle.

Which model router is it?

Re: OpenVPN problems

I do not have 1.6.1 running yet, but I have a question about the firewall blocking of non-VPN traffic when running OpenVPN.

Is it possible to SSH into the router from the WAN when the VPN is enabled?

Is it possible to do port forwarding from the WAN to a LAN machine while the VPN is enabled?
