Re: QoS Download Speeds

Your post shows your CPU is overloaded at 86Mbps so you have not done yet anything different CPU wise.

Half of 86Mbps is 43Mbps. Please enter 43Mbps on your download page. If the CPU is still saturated try 20Mbps.

Re: QoS Download Speeds

Your last post shows your CPU time is over 1.0 on your router and you have saturated your CPU. Everything becomes unpredictable in this situation. To confirm cut your download speed (on the QoS download page) in half and you should see that your performance is then stable in time. That will confirm ...

Look at the connection list and determine which connections are not classified the way you think they should be.

Post what you find.

Re: Bridge Mode - How to do it right

The most basic thing to do is to connect your Gargoyle router directly to your modem. This will give you access to all the great features of Gargoyle. If it is a ADSL modem then you will also benefit by putting the modem in bridge mode. The help for this is here https://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/...

Re: QoS BW Limit

Please show screen shot of your upload page while the problem is happening.

Also, on the download page show the ACC section while the problem is happening. Please make sure ACC is enabled and that the ping target is appropriate. Try 8.8.8.8 as your ping target as well.

Re: Torrents takes over http traffic

Your problem is on the upload side.
Make sure it is correctly configured and that torrent traffic is given 1% there.

Re: how to give downloads lowest priority?

You need to find some way for QOS to know which traffic you consider "Downloads" and which traffic you consider "Streaming". But by default QoS will make sure each computer gets the same bandwidth. So for example if one computer is running torrents and another is streaming then e...

Re: QOSMON v2.3 Released to repo (ACC)

Without digging into the code, does the custom ping target handle URLs rather than IP addresses? qosmom requires an IP address and I pretty sure the web interface also does. Also, I am not aware of a DDNS address that references my ISP's gateway that could be used. Presently there is no good way to...

Re: QoS, slow CPU, fast WAN

In answer to the OP. All routers have a maximum processing speed for the WAN link. If you lower your total WAN bandwidth (upload plus download) to below this maximum on the Gargoyle QoS screens then Gargoyle will throttle your throughput and all your Gargoyle functions will work properly. This may r...

QOSMON v2.3 Released to repo (ACC)

I have released a new version of QOSMON to the repo. QOSMON is the controller at the heart of the ACC feature in Gargoyle. Two new features of note. 1) I have revised the way QOSMON reacts when it does not get a response to a ping. The new method should be smoother regardless of the link speed you h...
