Re: Gargoyle-ispy 2012-November-11.7z

http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/doku.php?id=allow_channels_12_13_14#allow_channels_12_13_14 I followed the instructions and compiled an image with CONFIG_ATH_USER_REGD=y. I can see from dmesg, on startupthe regdomain is changing to AU. Yet when I try to use any txpower above 17 dbm, it isn't po...

Re: Wifi tx/rx

I'm sure there are other networks in your neighbourhood.
802.11n specs say an AP must disable wide channel operation if it detects other neighbouring networks.

Re: WNDR3700v1 & Gargoyle - 5Ghz selection for non-USA route

Can anyone confirm if the latest 1.5.3 build has been built with the 'CONFIG_ATH_USER_REGD=Y' flag? No, it looks like it is not enabled (except if it is enabled directly in OpenWRT): http://www.gargoyle-router.com/gargoyle/projects/gargoyle/repository/revisions/master/entry/targets/ar71xx/profiles/...

Re: Version 1.5.3 & 1.4.6

The backup config doesn't seem to be compatible. I went from 1.5.2 to 1.5.3 and I had the same problem. After restoring from my backup. Only way I could fix it was to re-flash and re-config manually :( Damn - re-flash? Or just a simple reset? 'reset to factory defaults' should be enough. Then you'l...

The "Unsupported use at your own risk" underline was to emphasize and bold that point. If you click both links above that I posted, there is a modified regulatory.bin file and instructions where to place it and how to use it. I won't make this simple because you are violating regulatory l...

Re: 1.4.1: client bridge not as stable as 1.3.x

Hello, I just upgraded from 1.3.16 to 1.4.1 and experienced problems with the client bridge mode on my TP-LINK 741. I started with low 1.3. numbers a few months ago and experienced Gargoyle as the only free firmware which could establish a stable client bridge with the 741. This worked at least up ...

Roaming wierdness 1.4.0

I currently have 3 non-gargoyle AccessPoints installed, all using the same SSID with the same WPA2-PSK. This way clients can select the best AP and connect to them, roaming to a different AP if they start moving around the building and the signal degrades. I have a WRT160NL installed as a client bri...
