Re: Missing Half Download Bandwidth

... It must be cool to have 22mbps download. I live on a meager 1mbps as do a lot of people in this world. For those people the capability of the GL is adequate. Its a design decision to have the more capable bandwidth monitor in exchange for the bandwidth loss. I also wish it did not take as much ...

Re: USB Hard Drive Transfer Rate Testing! Come Get Some!

XChesser did test of all available filesystems for OpenWrt.
Results are here

As Gargoyle uses OpenWrt backend, all this is applicable to Gargoyle as well.

I did testing for ext3, ext4 and xfs using Transcend USB Flash drive.'
xfs was fastest on reading, ext4 - best for writing.

Those were personally tested by me.
Thank you! Just to clarify: NTFS/EXT2/EXT3/EXT4 are supported out of the box? You don't need to install/add those systems manually?

supported file systems for USB drive in Gargoyle

Hello everyone, Question to owners of routers with USB port: what filesystems are supported on Gargoyle out-of-the box? 2nd question: which filesystem you personally prefer, and why? I did test of different filesystems with OpenWrt recently. And came to conclusion that ext4 has the best performance ...

Re: WR1043ND - no routing or packet forwarding LAN->WAN ?

I did following setup ------------------------------ Internet ---- ( DD-Wrt v24 sp2 * ASUS WL-500G ) ---- ( Gargoyle 1.3.8 * TP-Link WR841ND ) ---- Wired Client ... In such setup I can ping http://www.google.com from client PC connected to Gargoyle router. nslookup also resolves names without probl...

Re: Default Firewall configuration / Mac address cloning

It seems I found reason why there were problems with connection. It was caused by cloning Mac address from local PC to WAN interface. Let's suggest PC mac address is: 00-23-54-AA-BB-CC You set it as Mac address for WAN interface. config 'interface' 'wan' option 'ifname' 'eth0.2' option 'proto' 'pppo...

Re: UPnP - display open ports/host names using service

UPnP works in OpenWrt just fine (tested on TP-Link WR1043ND, OpenWrt 10.03.1-RC4, PPPoE connection to provider)

But without proper display of open ports on router, it's difficult to do any kind of diagnostics.

Feature described above is certainly on top in my Wish List for Gargoyle Features.

PPTP PPPoE configuration (Dual Access)

I think it would be useful to add PPTP client to Gargoyle And allow Web Interface configuration for PPTP client - with "Dual Access" - 2nd interface configured as Static/Dynamic IP. This would match possibilities of latest TP-Link firmware (PPPoE/DualAccess, PPTP/DualAccess) See recent &qu...

Re: Version 1.3.8

Does TP-Link have ap with two wlan interfaces? D-Link 825 has two wlan interfaces one for g/n 2.4Ghz and one for a/n 5Ghz. I have netgear wndr 3700 with dual wlans, and didn't get 1.3.7 working. Linksys wrt 400 is third model with similar setup. Has anyone been able to get router with two wlan inte...
