1.3.7 Users unable to connect

I'm not sure if this is a genuine bug or not but thought that I would log it in case others have similar issues. New firmware installed approx a week ago on ASUS WL-500gp and was working fine for several days. Users complained of not gaining access to Internet and upon investigating I was able to re...

Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!

I'm using ASUS WL-520UG's on both 1.35 & 1.37 firmware versions. I have had a crazy issue with not being able to connect to upstream modem on 2 out of 3. In frustration both times I reflashed and all came good so I'm guessing that I'm just not as patient as I should be at install time. Once inst...

Re: Feature Request: Only access via DHCP issued IP

Eric, I understand the problem now. I assume that there is no other option than to use dnsmasq? I ask as udhcpc appears to have this function available out of the box? http://www.digipedia.pl/man/doc/view/udhcpc.8/ I have found a rather obscure link though which is probably more to your liking where...

Re: Feature Request: Only access via DHCP issued IP

Eric, Thanks for the response and positive feedback that it is at least a valid idea. If my understanding of how DHCP works is that once issued the MAC address is held in a lease reservations table on the router until the expiry time, and it is the guest that polls for updates based on certain event...

Re: Feature Request: Only access via DHCP issued IP

I am trying to avoid hard coding MAC addresses to IP's as the site is not actively monitored and hence no admin person is available to perform these duties. As you indicated I have already set up a Quota rule that allows "All Individual Hosts Without Explicit Quotas", and have complimented...

Feature Request: Read Only access to Statistics

I have 2 use case scenarios for providing read only access to the statistics/status pages. Scenario 1: User can get more detailed information on their own usage patterns In this case when a user puts the IP address of the router into their browser it defaults to a version of the "Bandwidth usag...

Feature Request: Only access via DHCP issued IP

I am providing free internet usage to guests and so want to limit abuse by throttling users when they exceed their quota. Gargoyle does all this no problems at all. Problem is that the users have become smart and simply edit their IP address manually and then get a new quota. I note that there is al...
