Re: Ability to see more than 100% usage in Bandwidth Quota Usage
This topic has been posted before, including by myself for exactly the reasons mentioned.... using throttling exceeds 100%. I still support this as a logical request, subject to all the other pressures and prioritization.

Re: Supported routers - November 2017
Evidently by the many comments in these forums about throughput bottlenecks due to the Gargoyle Router CPU limitations, it would appear a router only with No WiFi should be on the supported list to get the best throughput performance for money. Coincident with delivering high throughput, a distribut...

Re: TP-Link AC1900 Archer C9?
Lantis... regarding your statement "- Broadcom devices typically do not have wifi support making them utterly useless. This device included." Some of us do not use the inherent WiFi of the router, rather use Gargoyle to drive a mesh network, for instance, using Open-Mesh access points (whi...

Re: Roll back to stock firmware, archer c7
I've had the Archer C7 v2 for a year. Loading up the C7 with Gargoyle is easy and painless. It seems to work well with basic features and also the all important Quota feature. I have it do a reboot every night and all is well. But when I attempted to turn on VPN, web locked up and stopped working. P...

Re: Supported routers - November 2017
This is all great work and I've been using Gargoyle for years. Thank you! Wondering if there is a device in the "best supported router - No WiFi" category? This is to get the fastest possible throughput with Gargoyle functions while segregating the delivery options... GigE, distributed acc...

Re: best Performance router available
I think it is time to cost/availability optimize a CPU platform that only brings a Gig-E switch and fast throughput. Gargoyle processor intensive features are up against fiber connectivity speeds. And the cost of faster WiFi capable routers that are required for higher end CPU's is getting too high ...

Re: Web notification when bandwidth quota reached
What about HTTP redirection to a splash page when quota is used up? Or to the router login page that will show them their quota status. I'm finding users at our summer camp have no clue they ran their quota to 100%... their browsing simply stops. Then they blame the network... "its down again&q...

Re: Version 1.8.0 - DHCP Renewal every 16 min
My Asus WL-500G Premium V1, running Gargoyle 1.8.0 feeds an open-mesh network that is in bridge mode. So all DHCP requests are handled out of the Gargoyle router. The Open-Mesh gateway goes down at least once per day, and then recovers. Looking at the Gargoyle log files, they get filled by DHCP requ...

Re: Version 1.8.0 - WiFi not stable
My experience since 1.7.2, now 1.8.0 has been the same as GRIM posted a couple pages ago in this thread. WiFi seems a lot weaker (1 bar instead of 4) than before and occasional disconnects occur. Today the WiFi is almost unusable despite reboot and attempts at 1.8.0 re-installation. Router is a Buff...

Re: Unknown or Unauthorized Access
Just found a previous forum post that might be related... from 2009.... OpenWRT/DDWRT-based botnet attack from infected routers or equipment. Interesting that a few others have posted log results (for other reasons) into this forum which contain the dropbear interaction below... Per the DroneBL botn...
