no sir.as you know both routers has the same atheros chip and flash and ram .the only difference is that tp-link 941nd v5 router has 3 antenna while tp-link 841nd v8 has 2 antenna.basically Atheros AR9341 is 2x2.please see this http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr941nd

this is simple way to change identity of 941nd v5 into that of 841nd v8 so that you can install gargoyle or openwrt or ddwrt into it.just upgrade the firmware of your 941nd v5 router by this file using either the web ui or mtd -r write tp.bin firmware in putty or use sysupgrade tp.bin then your 941n...
