Re: Gargoyle on D-Link 882

So OpenWrt seems to be slowly gaining support for D-link 882 A1 (and 878 A1) version - see https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/2588#issuecomment-637809525 There are still some 'rough' corners - but hopefully on a good road towards stable usage. So does Gargoyle need any further extra work to be ...

Re: Gargoyle on D-Link 882

The MT7615 wifi isn't supported yet. It looks like it might be in the works in the mt76 driver space, but no sure how far away. I've moved a bit further after vacations - so now I've nicely working serial line console. From what I've got from exactly one developer of dd-wrt forum (yep - only single...

Re: Gargoyle on D-Link 882

Let's review this thread a bit. I've bought a 2nd. used-one DIR-882 reasonably cheaply (~$45) for experiments. So now I can play well enough and not killing WiFi for anyone @home ;). I've grabbed whole source from DLink pages for their firmware: https://dlink-gpl.s3.amazonaws.com/GPL1900055/DIR-882_...

Re: 1043nd v1 and 1.11

Well the issue with routers is - which one to buy. Knowing the performance and price of DLink 882 - there is simply no justification for seeing 300% higher price tag for equally fast MU-MIMO Linksys AC3200. I don't get why all other MU MIMO routers seems to be using unsupportable chipsets and only L...

Re: Faster wifi with 1043nd V1

Hello! I just registered to say that by removing the middle antenna on my old WR1043ND v1.x I was able to reach 120MBits but it didn't stick. Soon after it came back to the 30MBit transfer limit. Have you been testing with locally connected computers and iPerf ? Such bandwidth test do need local ne...

Re: 1043nd v1 and 1.11

Ohh - that you mean - no I've not used disk as external storage - mainly because my primary plan is to use the only single USB2.0 connector available on my 1043nd to connect the printer. So with 1.11 there is no longer plan to support plugins (at least USB printing) without external space ?? I can p...

Re: 1043nd v1 and 1.11

Did you install it on an external plugin root? Unsure what is the question here - I've selected plugin to install - clicked on the button and got it installed. After reboot plugin 'stayed' installed with the checkbox present - so I've lived with assumption 'it's done'. So do I need to do anything m...

Re: 1043nd v1 and 1.11

The only plugin initially available is the USB plugin to allow you to setup external storage and a RAM swap drive to try and increase stability. This may not be 100% effective in all cases. Hmm I've installed USB printer plugin (it's been enabled & installed in plugin section) But it's been not...

Re: 1043nd v1 and 1.11

The low RAM on the device is leading to the instability and issues. It is a well known issue and more than 32MB of RAM is recommended. The only plugin initially available is the USB plugin to allow you to setup external storage and a RAM swap drive to try and increase stability. This may not be 100...

1043nd v1 and 1.11

Hello I've been testing 1.11 with 1043nd v1. So here are few comments. Upgrade 1.10 -> 1.11 requires to erase all configuration and set things again - reusing old config doesn't work and messes system. This is likely well know and advertise issue - but just saying... (Since I'd like to preserve some...
