Re: TPLink 1043ND slow DL Speeds

Stock firmware uses proprietary code to reach 1 Gbps with custom hardware.

Open firmware does not. It uses the CPU. Thus it is slower than stock.

Re: WR-1043ND 1.5.8 instability

danielzka, Do you have other equipment in the 2.4 ghz frequency range that could interfere? Phone, perhaps? Alternatively, do you experience the same instability when running OpenWRT, or even stock? Also, you could try the latest experimental build in here: http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewf...

Re: WR-1043ND 1.5.8 instability

danielkza,

Have you adjusted the "Transmit Power" option?
In my experience, a too high of a value made wifi unstable.

Re: QoS configuration disappears after power loss and breaks

In my experience, if you get the bug while on the web interfface, you still have a certain time frame to pull your previous 'qos-gargoyle' file out of the router before it gets overwritten. I used WinSCP to do so.

Re: Support for CoDeL (new QoS algorithm)?

Grey,

How's the torrenting on your custom build? Stable?

Moreover, with your build, are you able to define min/max BW using Gargoyle's QoS service classes?

Support for CoDeL (new QoS algorithm)?

Hey,

It looks like CoDel ("a new no-knobs Active Queue Management algorithm") has made it into OpenWRT trunks and in linux kernel 3.5.

User reports are positive.

Is the Gargoyle development team considering including CoDeL support in the next release?

Re: DHCP question / Can I exclude certain MAC addresses

Not sure if that's what you're looking for, but on the config page, under Connection -> Basic -- you have a "Wireless MAC Filter" option.

Check it out.
