Re: TL-WR1043ND v1 on 1.10.0 Can't Upgrade

So I waited until I had the patience and tried again, and lo and behold it worked this time!

So I guess I didn't have good cable connections last time and this time I did a better job pushing the cables in.

Thanks,
RR

Re: TL-WR1043ND v1 on 1.10.0 Can't Upgrade

All that is done, and I've tried 2 different ethernet cables that worked on other computers for regular networking. I'll see if I can find a 3rd for '3rd times a charm' luck.

I turned off the firewall. Re: TL-WR1043ND v1 on 1.10.0 Can't Upgrade

Thanks for the tip. Now, unfortunately, somewhere between my original post and yesterday (when I read the post from RomanHK) I semi-bricked the router and it wouldn't boot. I am trying to un-brick via usb/serial/ttl cable and while I can get into the router interface via putty, I have no luck upload...

TL-WR1043ND v1 on 1.10.0 Can't Upgrade

I am running per the subject. I wish to upgrade to 1.12 to be on the latest release. I've tried upgrading directly to 1.12 with gargoyle_1.12.0-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr1043nd-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin and the updating firmware icon keeps spinning. If I open another tab to the router's IP it lets me log...

Re: Using Gargoyle Router as Ethernet Switch and Wireless Extender

I'm not sure what is going on here. I now have internet connectivity. I configured the settings again same as before and moved the incoming ethernet cable from LAN to WAN and turned wifi off and on and off again. There was no rhyme or reason - I couldn't even get into the Gargoyle web interface from...

Re: Using Gargoyle Router as Ethernet Switch and Wireless Extender

I finally got the router configured so that I could log back into it after setting it up per the screenshots above - but I still can't get connected to the internet via the ethernet port. What was strange to me was that I could see the router on the network using an IP scanner (Fing) but it couldn't...

They are all on 192.168.0.x
What firewall are you referring to?

Re: Using Gargoyle Router as Ethernet Switch and Wireless Extender

So I tried that configuration and with a cable in from my wired network to the WAN port, I was not able to access the rest of my network. I'm wondering if I need to do something special with the DHCP or other settings under "connection".
