Re: Gargoyle-ispy 2013-March-14.7z

I experienced slow internet speeds using build 14.03.2013 for 1043ND so I went back to January build. We need to wait for openwrt developers for a fix, timeline is so full of tickets!

Re: tp-link N600/tl-wdr3600 reboot looping

Try another 12V/1.5A power supply.
I successfully debricked my unit (WDR3600) many times using 3.3V usb to ttl adapter.
You can easily open the router case and connect a 3.3V serial adapter w/o soldering (improvise with needles etc), use wdr4300 openwrt wiki.

Re: TCP: time wait bucket table overflow

Maybe someone using dd-wrt or Tomato can post their values. I am not sure if this value is different depending on the amount of ram available or not. IE., my 16 mb WRT54GL is lower than someone with a new N router with 32 or 64 mb of ram. Bucket values: 1. ASUS RT-N16 (used as small station running...

Re: Advice setting up a wireless repeater

thanks for replying! I have a very long ethernet cable running up into the house which i can use to plug one rouer into the next, then have the router inside the house broadcasting wirelessly - would this be the best way to set it up? Yes. My other option was to stay with a linksys router, but get ...

Re: General Question Regarding QoS

You can easily limit p2p trafic with gargoyle. Just activate QoS and impose you maximum limits to the default class "slow" for both uploads and downloads.

Re: Advice setting up a wireless repeater

You will lose half of the wireless bandwidth using WRT54GL as a repeater. Your first option to expand the wireless coverage should be WDS (very hard to accomplish with non identical units) or ethernet powerline adapters + access points/routers. TP-LINK solutions are the cheapest available. You can u...

Re: Slow peformance between TL WR1043ND AP and Client Bridge

I don't have two 1043nd units, sorry! My wireless file is not tweaked, only noscan added. My unit is ext-rooted, QoS enabled for both upload and download, used as privoxy server, samba for share, unit is always ~ minimal 20%-25% cpu load when one device is connected. Router uptime: root@Gargoyle:~# ...
