Stop trying random version files before you brick a device.
I don't mind bricking a few, you know... "for science" :)

Thanks for letting me know. I'll return all of them and try and track down version 2's :(

How to flash Archer C7 v4?

http://ecuflashking.com/Archer_C7_v4/box_front.jpg I tried renaming my old ArcherC7v2_tp_recovery.bin file to ArcherC7v4_tp_recovery.bin and it successfully uploaded to the router over tftp but when the router reboots it's still the stock firmware :( http://ecuflashking.com/Archer_C7_v4/gui_firmwar...

Re: TL-WR1043ND V3

I've flashed hundreds of 1043ND V3 with the 1.8.1 firmware, never any issues. Just bought 20 more 1043ND V3 and I can't flash them, dreaded 18005 error :( https://cdn.pximg.xyz/95031ced03f8692cc9aebd913bfee5f3.png https://cdn.pximg.xyz/6644040f69ae6d2429c10c13b00894aa.png Picture of the bottom/FCCid...

Lantis wrote:Not sure why that wouldn't work, but if you go to /etc/rc.button and remove the link for reset and wps, the buttons should no longer function.
Great, thanks! I'll give it a try tomorrow :)

Unable to disable reset, WR1043ND v3

I used to disable the reset button all the time with v2 of TL-WR1043ND by editing /etc/config/system and deleting the "reboot button" and "reset button" blocks, :d to delete, :w to save :q to quit. Worked like a charm. I do the same thing on v3 and it has no affect :( https://cdn...

Re: Need to reset to MY custom defaults

So is restoring to defaults and then applying a backup out of the question? Correct, this is not possible. The restorations must be done in the future using just the physical reset button on the router :( There is also an option for you to build your own custom image where your network settings are...

Need to reset to MY custom defaults

When I press the reset button on the back of the router I need it to reset to MY custom specified defaults (not wireless disabled like factory default). I read some threads that I just needed to make a backup.tar.gz file of my current settings then dump it in /etc/original_backup/ but I think that m...

Wired MESH network? AP Problems :(

Ok, my boss said when he walks from his house to his store (which is 100ft away) he wants his phone and his laptop to (as seamlessly as possible) switch from his house wireless network to his store wireless network automatically (they are on the same physical network, i.e. there's a network cable ru...

Re: Wireless repeater

Thanks Jamie & pbix, it now works great! I configured everything according to what Jamie said, but initially it still didn't connect. Then I changed the security on the host router to WPA2-PSK, and it connected! Many thanks to your help! Nice work! In my original post I said WEP could cause iss...

Re: Wireless repeater

Thanks pbix and Jamie! Here's my ipconfig: Looks good :) Here is how I would setup the repeater settings... but first, before you enter these settings, when connected directly to the source AP/router/modem, go to the dos prompt again but this time enter PING 10.0.0.251 and verify you don't get any ...
