Re: Gargoyle 1.11.0 Release Candidate 1

I am not easily impressed. I have a wrt3200 as my main running openwrt with the latest wifi drivers patched in. I needed a bridge for working on older hardware that didnt have wifi, so i bought a wrt1900ac v2. Stock with the april2018 firmware, in bridge mode it did 100mbs down and 1mbs up, using a ...

The newer archer requires the fallback before flashing gargoyle but it is well known

And now the 68u supports the new beta Aimesh, so load up on the 50 bucks tmobile routers :)

Good non wifi router?

So i have been using gargoyle on and off on several devices for years (still using the good old buffalo wzr-300h preN) but never for my main router. With the intro of LEDE, and rumors of gargoyle switching from the semi stagnant openwrt base to lede by maybe the end of the year, i kinda want to get ...

Re: Use gargoyle for qos between main router and switch

What would you recommend for a 100/10 connection? Currently running 2 asus rt68ac's, but they can be delegated to AP use. Kinda hoping for a $50 WRT1900AC refurbished sale again. Right now i think they have a wrt3200acm For $130 but that is a bit overkill for me.

Use gargoyle for qos between main router and switch

m So i made one of these. Its just a usb powered box with the fire wall turned off and the wan/lan bridged, with the sqm running. I would like to make one of these using gargoyle, but i dont know how to setup gargoyle to just not do anything but qos. Stock im just going to end up with a double nat s...

OpenWrt Attitude Adjustment branch
Built November 09, 2014

So its not the new BB edition, just a AA build with the latest commits.

Re: Gargoyle as a access point

Sure thats easy. Just turn off dhcp, and give the router a fixed ip address that is in the same subnet as the rest of the network. Then just plug the ethernet cable into the 4 port switch section instead of the wan section. If you want to be slightly fancy, you can leave dhcp on, and set it to anoth...

Re: cheapest replacement for aging buffalo wzr-hp-g300nh

I dont know if you can get it, but JB weld or electrical potting poured over the whole board would turn it into a giant heatsink with no hot spots. Ive done this with many boards. PS, the wzr has screw heads that are tamper proof. You will need to either drill them out our get a tamper set. Or get r...

Re: cheapest replacement for aging buffalo wzr-hp-g300nh

The RTL8197D SoC doesnt have a ddwrt or open wrt build, even in alpha. Why would you buy this if you want a 100% gargoyle 1.6.2 compatible router? its also 8MB Flash and 64MB ram which is way less than the buffalo.
