Re: No 5 Ghz WLAN on Archer C7V5, 1.12.0

Probably a problem in WiFi drivers ? :? ( https://forum.openwrt.org/t/does-wifi-5-ghz-work-on-tp-link-archer-c7-ac1750-with-the-latest-openwrt-build/55251 ). You can try the v1.13.x beta from @Lantis https://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=12467 - then let me know if it hel...

Re: Domain suffix

Yes, it is possible, but it is not recommended due to a collision of an existing name in the public DNS system.

Local computer names should not be resolved by a DNS server and should be separated by a suffix.

You really have to type "tpl" very quickly (maybe confirm enter), you only have 1 second. Sometimes quite laborious to stop the boot ... ;)

Re: Archer C7 v2 Bricked when trying to revert to stock Need help

Update for debricking without serial on OpenWrt 19.07:  There is one more option with the help of OpenWrt 19.07 with modified TPLINK_HWREV and TPLINK_HWID and the same procedure as TFTP Recovery from the OpenWrt website: https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/archer-c5-c7-wdr7500#tftp_recovery_de-br...

Re: Archer C7 v2 Bricked when trying to revert to stock Need help

This is bad and it will not be easy. It is said that this can happen. Even if the image matches the hardware ID. Then you can try reflash with the command from the bootloader. This step is at your own risk! You will follow the instructions from the manual here: https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/archer...

Re: Archer C7 v2 Bricked when trying to revert to stock Need help

It also matters what version you have! look at the bottom label if you have EU or US. To be sure, I will give you both (latest) OEM versions: https://gargoyle.romanhk.cz/Archer_C7_V2/ The files are ready for the TFTP server. Then just follow the video tutorial and it should flash. It would be good t...

I tried that file and read that thread. Still no joy. I was hoping someone else has the friedzombie file.

Thanks
You can make it yourself from any TP-Link firmware (which includes a bootloader), instructions are in the link.

Re: Security on Gargoyle,

 Probably this test cannot pass due to RFC-792 (RFC1122), which OpenWrt (Gargoyle) adheres to.
