Re: Understanding QOS
Most individual elements/transfers within a webpage are fairly small (<1MB), so this helps prioritize browsing. HTTP transfers over 1MB are probably bulk file downloads, so they are at a lower priority.

Re: D-Link D-835
sysupgrade file for your router and don't save settings. you could also use the "factory" file, which will ensure settings are wiped.

Re: jittery/poor performance while streaming video? (TL-WDR3
Gargoyle runs great on this router. Why not just get rid of the airport wifi and just use what is built into the WDR3600?
Have you considered enabling QOS?
(I personally use OpenWrt Barrier Breaker as I prefer it's QoS system, but Gargoyle's is better than most others).

Not that I'm aware of.morgan wrote:Thanks drawz - how can I discover this information? Is there a road map to gargoyle development or tacking of OpenWrt?

Re: TP-Link Archer C7 support?
Once Gargoyle is based on OpenWrt Barrier Breaker (14.07), they can support the Archer C7.

Re: Can Gargoyle be built with a newer kernel?
fq_codel was backported to 3.3.8 for openwrt AA, which is the key to addressing bufferbloat. No idea how to enable it on gargoyle, but theoretically it's supported in the kernel. So merely getting 3.5+ installed isn't going to do much for you.

OpenWrt is not fully functional yet on this device, so I wouldn't hold your breath on Gargoyle support.

Re: WNDR 3700v4 problem upgrade
Gargoyle does not currently support v4. OpenWrt is close to having proper support in trunk/development builds. Gargoyle won't have support for it until it moves to that branch of openwrt.

Re: Qos situation...
try fq_codel in openwrt or dd-wrt. Gargoyle's ACC will help with this too. you'll give up a little bandwidth off the top (set max in QOS to 90% of your line rate), but it's worth it and works all the time.

Re: Worth Upgrading? - Gaming pings
try something with fq_codel support - openwrt or dd-wrt. wish gargoyle would add it. The WDR3600 runs either openwrt or ddwrt just fine.
