Gargoyle affected by Bash/Shellshock?

Are Garoyle installations likely to be affected by the so-called "Shellshock" bug that has been discovered in Bash?

If so, what precautions or changes are needed?

Re: Should I buy the Gargoyle Gigabit Router ?

Beware! You had best check the hardware version number of the Netgear WNDR3700 router. I bought one and only found out afterwards it was a "V3" hardware version. The "V3" is not supported by OpenWRT and hence Gargoyle. The Netgear user interface and functionality really sucks com...

Re: Version 1.4.2

I also have this DynDNS problem. It looks like the router updates the DynDNS entry once after a reboot, and then never again. I am running 1.4.2 on a Linksys WRT54GL with 32MB RAM. All other functions seem to be running well (except "Themes" menu is missing). My router is configured as a G...

Incorrect DHCP Lease expiry

Hi I have noticed some incorrect DHCP lease expiry times for a device on my network (see attached picture). I am using version 1.3.13 on a WRT54GL (with 32MB RAM). The same device always gets assigned this negative value for the lease time, even after rebooting the router. The device that causes thi...

Re: Version 1.3.13

I have also noticed that the Dynamic DNS service is not updating automatically on 1.3.13. This was also a problem in most of the previous releases I have used. In previous (stable) releases I found that it would work for about a month (?) and then stop updating. I would need to delete and re-enter t...

Re: Version 1.3.10: Broadcom 2.6, Dual Band N

leedagar: It should work with a WRT54GL (all versions) provided you don't try restoring from an old config file. I'm rather puzzled why it isn't working for you... Is anyone else with a WRT54GL having similar problems? Hi Eric, I installed 1.3.10 over 1.2.4 on my WRT54GL router and the upgrade work...

Re: PPPoE WAN bug?

Hi Pbix Many thanks - this now works for me as well! My only concern is that the router initially "played dead" after the first reboot after transferring the updated pppd file. I did execute the chmod +x command on the pppd file before rebooting. I could not get web access or ssh into the ...

End-of-month usage summary?

Hi Eric Is it possible for Gargoyle to save a monthly per-IP-address usage summary (total upload, total download) which can be extracted later on? I have setup a monthly quota system, but sometimes I need to increase a user's quota if it has been used up before the end of the month. I then need to c...

Re: Can't restore backup

Have you checked that the router has a valid time and date before doing the restore config settings? I found that I had to first enter my PPPoE settings (so the router could get time and date from the internet) and only then restore my config. Skipping the first step caused all usage data to be lost...
