Re: Router Speed tests

Tested with Gargoyle 1.9.0 on an Netgear WNDR3700v2 on a clean install. I used en Core i5 with an SSD behind the Netgear. Netgear with WAN adapter connected as a 'slave device' to another Gbit router. On this Gbit router, my Zyxel NAS is connected with a single Gbit port. Usually, I get around 65-80...

Re: openvpn with 2048bit Keys

Worked like a charm! Thanks! For those people interested in a short manual: Note: this is not supported from the GUI, so use this at your own risk: 1) Make sure you're running Gargoyle v1.6.1 or higher 2) Disable the running OpenVPN service if you are already using it and delete all keys (you will b...

Nice! Will try this and report back!

I assume you also replaced the value of the dh1024.pem file reference, so it creates a dh2048.pem file instead?

Re: openvpn with 2048bit Keys

In the meantime, you could try some of the stuff on the OpenVPN config page on the OpenWRT website (although the easy-rsa directory is obviously missing on Gargoyle): http://wiki.openwrt.org/inbox/vpn.howto Mmm, that last piece of advice seems just silly. This is probably a better link: http://open...

Re: openvpn with 2048bit Keys

My thoughts exactly! I wonder what the performance penalty will be for setting up a VPN tunnel though. I assume that you can change the default parameters in de openssl.conf file under /etc/ssl/ before activating OpenVPN for the fist time: ############################################################...

Re: OpenVPN or any other VPN

I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish. Are you trying to use your router as a VPN client to connect to a 3rd party VPN provider on the internet? Or are you trying to use your router as a VPN server to connect your clients from the internet and use NAT and / or LAN access?

Re: ERROR: Dependency libffmpeg of package minidlna cannot b

I had the exact same problem installing minidlna. Your solution works, thanks for that! However, I'm stuck on configuring; I have a USB disk mounted under '/dev/sda1' as mentioned under the webinterface. I've got Transmission BT running, which uses '/tmp/usb_mount/dev_sda1' however as the root path ...
