Just an update -
I turned ACC back on a week ago and it is running without event.
So, I have not seen this condition reoccur.
Call it a one-time event with an unknown cause.

ACC issue
Using 1.5.5 at a bar. 12mbit link. Today link was limited to ~2 Mbit. Without router, link returned 11.5 Mbit. So I checked DL QOS page. Initially I had been running QOS with ACC on upload and download at the measured rates. Like I do in every other environment; it's the best. Today, for whatever re...

Re: Prep for Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH2
In the "Success Stories" area, I found a testimonial from someone who bricked his NH2 a week or so ago, then recovered it to factory then tftp'ed 1.5.7 onto it. See below. Re: WZR-HP-G300NH2 A1A0 by rfdude » Sun Oct 14, 2012 11:31 am After bricking my new WZR-HP-G300NH2 A1A0 router with 1....

Using Gargoyle as a wired Ethernet bridge for QOS only
There's another product I use as a QOS-only device. Like a router, it takes WAN in and sends LAN out. It sits between the core router and the switches distributing the LAN. But, it operates as an Ethernet bridge . It is not a gateway. It steps in and queues and drops packets as needed. And generates...

Re: Prep for Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH2
Sorry, I am not a techy guy. I'd say you need to be a techie guy to do this upgrade properly. For this particular router, the procedure is complex. The upgrade to 1043ND is super-simple and the router, while not quite as powerful as the Buffalo, will still do 50Mbit-class for you. And it's under $5...

Re: Gargoyle doing an amazing job
A little bit of follow-up on testing... In subsequent "retests;" meaning hitting the "TEST AGAIN" button on Speedtest.net, I got lower values. Different values corresponded to different cases. Worst case was two Youtubers and two torrenters, and simply hitting "TEST AGAIN&qu...

Gargoyle doing an amazing job
This is really just a success story about how a stock install of Gargoyle 1.5.5 with QOS and ACC turned on is doing an exemplary job of arbitrating amongst four greedy users on a 3Mbit connection. Users: Projector laptop, running uTorrent wide-open, 227 TCP sessions and 514 UDP connections A friend'...

Re: 3g USB dongle in TP-WR1043nd
a friend set this up 4 months ago with 1043ND HW current at that time and Gargoyle version current at that time; perhaps 1.56?
It just works. He was quite pleased.
