I don't feel comfortable with shutting down my WNDR3800 by pressing a hard button yet I'm thinking (since nobody mentioned it) if it is really necessary to shut down OpenWRT in a "proper" way. Is it?

That's because "Tor is disabled on routers with less than 64MB of memory" for 1.5.2 and your has only 32MB.

On my WNDR3800, can I use gargoyle_1.5.2-ar71xx-wndr3800-squashfs-factory.img to flash directly from original Netgear gui? Anybody tried that before?
