Re: Wndr3700 gargoyle, now can't log into gui
Hey glad to know your router continues to live on happily . I have a thumb tack on my desk since for resets since I lost my trusty paperclip. It has on more occasions than I'd like "slipped" off the button inside the chassis...So annoying, lol. Congrats on your re-flash

Re: Wndr3700 gargoyle, now can't log into gui
There shouldn't really be any timing to doing it. Is the router entering recovery at all? Pull the power cord (don't use the button), firmly hold reset in (careful not to slip off the button, as I've done a lot...), then plug the power cord back in and wait for a slow steady green blink on the power...

Re: Whitelistr for MAC addresses
You realize how trivial it is to spoof a MAC, right?

Re: Wndr3700 gargoyle, now can't log into gui
I've never had either of my two WNDR units not accept a factory firmware in recovery mode. I've also never run Wireshark while putting them in recovery mode to see exactly what they output. If the router is unable to figure out who has 192.168.1.2 have you tried using a different LAN port on it? Per...

Re: WNDR3700
I haven't attached a HDD to either of my WNDR units, but I do have some flash sticks (OLD ONES, haha) attached and one runs my Squid cache. It's holding up fine so far.

Re: Wndr3700 gargoyle, now can't log into gui
The 169.* IP is an APIPA address. Do you have a LAN adapter on your PC? If so, manually set it to 192.168.1.2 and connect directly to a LAN port on your WNDR3700. Pull power from the router and while holding the reset button (bottom of the unit) using a toothpick or something, power it up. Keep hold...

Re: Isolate an IP which is another router
If you are trying to provide a WLAN guest network with only default gateway (internet) access and no LAN access I imagine you could place your WLAN guest router on a separate network and then create a static route directing all of its traffic to the internet WAN link. 192.168.1.0 - Your private netw...

Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!
Two successful installs on Netgear WNDR3700v1 (USA). One came from stock the other from DD-WRT. Stock I was able to flash with the factory-NA image via web upgrade while the DD-WRT one I had to place into recovery mode (unplug, hold reset, plug in, release reset once power light blinking) and TFTP o...
