Updating from 1.4.7

Hi, It's been a long time since I've been here. Reason; my present 1.4.7 version of the Gargoyle firmware has been running very stable. Recently I decided to have a look and found out that there have been quite a few updates since then, presently being at version 1.6.1. Can I flash the latest firmwa...

Re: UPnP vulnerability

Hi pbix, Thanks for taking the time for your extensive reply. Good to hear (and see from running the UPnP Exposure Test on GRC.com [https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?rh1dkyd2]) that Gargoyle and the version of miniupnp it is running, are safe. And about everyone once more learning to be vigilant. Securit...

UPnP vulnerability

Hi all, Recently I've been reading a couple of alarming messages about a widespread UPnP vulnerability. See here: https://community.rapid7.com/community/infosec/blog/2013/01/29/security-flaws-in-universal-plug-and-play-unplug-dont-play What I'm wondering about; is Gargoyle (running version 1.4.7. fi...

Re: WNDR3700v2 what firmware

Hi I have a WNDR3700v2 router which I have bought just 3 days back and I am having issues with wireless connectivity with the original firmware. It keeps on dropping my wireless connection by stating in the logs that WLAN ACCESS REJECTED : INCORRECT SECURITY from MAC ADDRESS. Does the gargoyle firm...

Re: ethernet switch

Didn't you, by accident of course, plugin one of your PC's to the uplink connection? It happened to me once . . .

Re: WNDR3700 Gargoyle Crashes my Client?!

I tend to use all caps when people spread misinformation. Personality is always appreciated, honestly! But using all caps doesn't convince (me); it's arguments that may convince me (or not). If you could point out to me where the misinformation was spread, in the previous thread, I might understand...

Re: WNDR3700 Gargoyle Crashes my Client?!

A BSOD should never happen. It's caused by driver bugs or hardware failures. IT IS NOT CAUSED BY WEBSITES OR 3RD PARTY FIRMWARE ON YOUR NAT ROUTER. Why scream? At least, that's what I associate 'all caps' with. Maybe it's my longtime newsgroups background that's speaking here and I'm interpreting y...

Re: WNDR3700 Gargoyle Crashes my Client?!

This has absolutely nothing to do with Gargoyle or your router. This is a problem with your computer , namely the intel sata storage driver, just as it states. That may (or may not) be quite true, but it's still an intriguing question why it locks up when he tries to log into the Gargoyle GUI of hi...
