Another update: I did a speedtest now that I have 1.14 running and my down speed has decreased from 200 Mbps to 120 Mbps!
Is 1.14 that much more demanding on the cpu that it almost halves my speed? That's definitely not worth it to me!
Please advise if this is expected.

Re: 1.14 no wireless, brick when going back?
Update: I got it all working again on 1.14 BUT for some reason I can't ping local machines by name anymore. If previously I had assigned static IP 192.168.1.123 to SomeMachine then I could simply do "ping somemachine" and it would work. Now I suddenly need to add .local to it! Where is tha...

Re: DHCP and MAC filter issue
I would jump into the code and fix it if I - understood OpenWrt - understood the uci system ... - had time ;) Look, I absolutely appreciate your efforts and the work you do, AND being an active replier here on the forum. So, many thanks for that, apologies if I sound snarky. I won't be backporting b...

Re: 1.14 no wireless, brick when going back?
My upgrade procedure was indeed trying to preserve settings, this because Gargoyle defaults to 192.168.1.1, a very unfortunate choice as it's already the default IP address of my modem, causing conflicts. Anyway I updated to 1.14 again. I disconnected the modem and selected not to preserve any setti...

1.14 no wireless, brick when going back?
Because of what was said in another topic I opened https://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=67177 I decided to update my 1043 v4's firmware from 1.12 to 1.14. After updating the wireless was not functioning. I triple-checked the settings, restored previous settings, played with some set...

Re: DHCP and MAC filter issue
1. As a software engineer myself I can't imagine the fix being anything more than commenting out the line where the list is cleared when filtering is disabled. Maybe low priority but very easy fix. 2. You are right, it turns out to be the saving of changes that turns on DHCP. But not 'ANY TIME' beca...

DHCP and MAC filter issue
Hi, running 1.12 (my router fails at anything above that). Two very annoying issues: 1. Sometimes I need to disable the Wireless MAC Filter as it's the only way to find out the MAC address of a device. The device can then connect, I can see its MAC address and then re-enable the filtering. The probl...

Re: Namecheap Dynamic DNS Force Update Fails
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I can not upgrade beyond version 1.12, I tried that a while ago and it caused all sorts of problems (though I don't remember what exactly).

Namecheap Dynamic DNS Force Update Fails
Gargoyle 1.12.0 running on TP-Link Archer C7 v2 I just wasted half a day trying to figure out why certain things in my network were completely failing until I finally realised my ISP had given me a new IP address. It's semi-static, so it can change but in practice it's always the been the same, unti...

Re: QoS cuts bandwidth in half
I tried upgrading to 1.14 a while ago but that lead to problems, I don't remember what they were but had to revert back to 1.12 so will stay at that, at least for a while. Most important for me is knowing the loss is expected. I wish there was an easy way to have an IP specific 'hosts' file on the r...
