Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!

I just checked last night...my Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH has been up and running Gargoyle 1.4.3 for 76 days. No reboots. No dropouts. The only reason it is 76 days is that I had to reboot when I shut the system down earlier when we had a wildfire evacuation! :o Nice work. I'm almost afraid to try Gargoy...

Re: Version 1.4.0 -- New Stable Branch

Successfully installed on Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH and Ubiquiti RSPro. Oddly enough the RSPro seems to really be shining with this build. A couple of builds ago it wouldn't do client stuff at all. I wasn't expecting that, maybe it needed that wireless driver update in RC5+. Only problem I see with the...

Re: WZR-HP-G300NH wireless mode selection

If you want to prevent the gui mucking up your custom wireless settings, use the following from command line: cd /etc/config chmod 444 wireless Any time you want to change wireless again: cd /etc/config chmod 744 wireless You don't need to restart the whole router to commit your changes. Just type:...

Re: Wzr -HP-3300nh dropouts

I've noticed that recently too. I've been up for quite while and occasionally find that the wifi has "gone away". Turning the wifi on and off at the laptop will usually revive it w/o a router reboot. Other times it just seems to drop out, but comes back to life. More of an annoyance than a...

Re: WZR-HP-G300NH wireless mode selection

Well, the bad news is that I still can't get link speed to my N devices above 130 mbs, even with the noscan option enabled. But the good news is that Gargoyle has been up and running for a few weeks now with no problems, no WAN or wireless dropouts, and full power out of the Buffalo router! I might ...

Re: WZR-HP-G300NH wireless mode selection

Yep, did that. Went in via ssh and edited wireless config file, saved it and rebooted. No change that I noticed. I also changed some settings, used the "wifi down", "wifi up" command sequence noted the changes in the /var/run/.... file which dealt with the wireless interface. No ...

Re: WZR-HP-G300NH wireless mode selection

OK, I tried the "wifi up" command and didn't get any overlapping BSS's. Then I edited the wireless config file to set "noscan" to "1". I still only see a 130 mbs connection to my MacBook (N-wireless card...Airport Extreme). Changed config file from "HT40+" to ...

Re: WZR-HP-G300NH wireless mode selection

I assume that I edit the /etc/config/wireless file to set "noscan" to 1.

Is there a re-boot command I can invoke from an ssh session?

Thanks!

Re: WZR-HP-G300NH wireless mode selection

Thanks! I'll give it a try.

Gargoyle has been great so far and it was a breeze to install following the tips I've found here.

WZR-HP-G300NH wireless mode selection

After struggling with the Buffalo "friendly" firmware and their DD-WRT dropping my wireless and WAN connections, I decided to give Gargoyle a try. So far it's been running great...no complaints from the family so that's good. My question is about wireless mode selection and link speed. I'm...
