Re: FIOS + airport + router for monitoring

If it goes bad you would need a serial device to recover it. Your deep in the rabbit hole now You have Gargoyle Pocket Router (v2) (Alfa Hornet-UB x2) https://openwrt.org/toh/alfa_network/hornet-ub In summary you need to purchase a serial dongle https://www.ebay.com/itm/FTDI-chip-usb-to-3-3v-TTL-UA...

Re: Gargoyle Pocket Router is a no go for 1.11.0

I've pointed Eric to this thread for a technical answer. He also controls the shop, so will be able to comment on the other parts of your query. If he hasn't replied by the end of the week, I'll contact him further, or suggest you make contact via the shop. Any outcome, we will get you going with a...

Re: Gargoyle Pocket Router is a no go for 1.11.0

This is a question for Eric Eric is the project lead, owner of this web site and Shop. The V2 router stopped being sold years ago but for some reason it started being sold again? The V3 router would have none of your problems for a few reasons. (up to date firmware and a OEM factory recovery method...

Gargoyle Pocket Router is a no go for 1.11.0

Hi, all. I've been working with many of the kind, helpful members of the community in the wireless section in the thread "FIOS + airport + router for monitoring " Summary: 3ish weeks ago, I bought a gargoyle router from this site (the v2 pocket router) to support the ideas and forum and wo...

Re: FIOS + airport + router for monitoring

I do not know, but this message 'platform_check_image' failed is of great concern to me. In my opinion, it will be the incompatibility of Chaos Calmer (Gargoyle 1.10.0) with the new LEDE platform (Gargoyle 1.11.X). I don't know if it shouldn't have done a full reflash (... squashfs-factory.bin) - b...

Lantis wrote:What upgrade command did you run? If you didn't pass the -n flag it may have configured a bad network in which case failsafe might still work.

Failsafe is worth trying before serial.
I did pass it the -n flag, alas.

Re: FIOS + airport + router for monitoring

The upgrade will probably work fine, if you force it (-F), but I can't guarantee it. If it goes bad you would need a serial device to recover it. I have no way of testing it for you. So... I tried to force the upgrade. And it did not work, alas. I can not reach the gargoyle router and when I boot i...

Re: FIOS + airport + router for monitoring

As you can see, the place in /tmp is - if it wasn't, you probably had multiple images with different names in the directory. I temporarily put in place for you. 1. Restart the router to make space in the /tmp directory 2. Connect to the Internet with a router 3. Execute commands via ssh as follows ...
