Re: Possible fix for b43 related stability issues

Anyone want to try porting these patches to Backfire and save WRT54GL routers from extinction? Eric?

Re: Limited connection at least few times a day.

This message is from Windows, most likely Windows 7. If this just recently started happening and your Linksys router is anything like mine, you need to boot into the recovery console and run the firstboot command. This will reset the router to stock. I've had to do this every 3-4 months using Gargoy...

Re: Possible fix for b43 related stability issues

Ok more news on this front, and probably the most promising I have seen yet. Please check out these patches submitted to b43-dev mailing list and the responses to them:

Re: SSH + VPN under gragoyle

Assuming port forwarding is working in this build (I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't), you are attempting to forward port 23 to port 22... So you are trying to forward the standard telnet port to a ssh port. This will work as long as you know what you are doing and account for this with your ssh ...

Re: DHCP not working for wireless users (WRT54GL)

You really think the guy who posted this last month was talking about the 1.5.7 build which came out a few days ago? This guy is describing exactly the problem probably 25+ other people including myself have reported in the past with b43 not working correctly. No one has a fix, because there isn't a...

Re: WR1043ND does not respond anymore

This is how you get to failsafe with the 1043ND: Set your computer's IP to 192.168.1.2, subnet 255.255.255.0 Power up your router. When the 'SYS' light starts to blink, press and hold the QSS button on the right side of the front panel until the blinking of 'SYS' LED gets faster. Telnet into 192.168...

Re: Random internet disconnects

This is a bug in the b43 wireless driver. Pretty much everyone with a broadcom router has it in some form or another. The b43 developers are looking for the problem.

Possible fix for b43 related stability issues

It seems someone has finally made some progress on why b43 seems to randomly stop working, and it's related to the wifi switching between 802.11b and 802.11g rates: http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/b43-dev/2012-August/thread.html A temporary fix is purportedly to force the ap radio and your clie...

Is this yours?

If it doesn't work with OpenWRT, it's not going to work with Gargoyle.

Re: Tp-link 1043ND bricked

Power up your router. When the 'SYS' light starts to blink, press and hold the QSS button on the right side of the front panel until the blinking of 'SYS' LED gets faster. If that won't work instead of holding the button press it and keep pressing it until the blinking gets faster. http://wiki.openw...
