Re: ispy builds

For smaller sizes, you can omit the broadcom (malfunctions) and you can omit the plugins because, probably the public version works. And, then separate into a couple of categories, like atheros, etc... Or, There was that other option of a Diet Gargoyle that fits more routers and runs faster... Those...

Re: Gargoyle 1.11.0 Release Candidate 5

On 1.11rc1, the wireless didn't drop for months. Except on purpose, because I have 4 am reboot for any networking device made of plastic. I did have multicast difficulty with wifi 'efficiency' hindering some multimedia features. When I tried 1.11rc5 there was very low multicast throughput. That wasn...

Re: Gargoyle 1.11.0 Release Candidate 5

...I went back to 1.10 which runs solid nonstop for months (although, both 2.4/5GHz range is much weaker on 1.10... max of 20 dbm per GUI... 5GHz can reach the whole house on 1.11 but half the house on 1.10).... The only observation I can tell is when we went out of the county for two weeks the WiF...

Re: Gargoyle 1.11.0 Release Candidate 5

Multicast wifi, 10 of chromecast-audio/home devices playing one audio program simulcast, was adversely affected by 6 megabit wifi transmit speed for all chromecast/home devices connected. The sum of 60 is less than half of the requirement. Much skipping/gaps in the audio. However one old E2000 set o...

Re: Gargoyle 1.11.0 Release Candidate 5

...I flashed the original WD firmware onto the old one... That has fixed it. It is quite typical to need to reinstall your Atheros router's factory firmware, for cleaning-out accumulated errors and for updating firmware. You could consider it like refurbishing, and especially in the case of an Athe...

Re: Gargoyle 1.11.0 Release Candidate 5

Hey Daniel! Unfortunately, I tryed bandwith limits above the port speed. 84mbps was the hard limit with QOS on, no matter what. Keep in mind this was done with top rolling via SSH and GUI open in chrome in QOS (Download) tab. It refreshes about every second and consumes CPU resources. Also, top alo...

Re: Gargoyle 1.11.0 Release Candidate 5

Testing on an AR150 device...Default config after flash (QOS disabled/BWmon enabled): 94mbps/94mbps (hard limit by eth. ... QOS enabled (up and down, default rules)/ACC ON/BWmon OFF: 82mbps/84mbps (top shows 1.03 cpu load... Awesome! Full port speed, or full port speed minus 14.4% QOS margin (If th...

...with the Services plugin . See if it works for you. No difference in memory consumption or speed with my Archer C7 V2. De-bloating failed. 8mb less memory consumption and faster speed with my D-Link DIR-835. De-bloating succeeded! Same version of Gargoyle, setup the same way, different results w...

Re: What about Asus routers?

I see there's new 1.11rc5 support for rt-ac51u, rt-n12p, rt-n14u. Those should work nicely with Gargoyle. However, there are other models from Asus, which require Broadcom binaries, such as WL. Broadcom routers such as rt-n66u, rt-n16, wl-520gu, rt-ac6x, rt-n5x, rt-ac56s, rtac65u, rt-ac3200, rt-n18u...

With Gargoyle 1.11rc1, it is quite stable; and, you've done impressively well.
