Unwanted Quota Assignment (Linksys WRT*AC*)

I've been testing both the WRT1200ACv1 and WRT3200ACM, and I noticed something strange. When I set a quota for predefined IPs (or range of IPs) and also for every host that doesn't have a quota ("Others (Individual)"), the rules for every host without an explicitly defined rule are applied...

Re: Aquantia AQtion 5Gbit NIC

Neither did I! I was able to snag an AM4 mobo the day of the Ryzen launch, but it was a "blink and you'll miss it" kind of thing. Kept refreshing and suddenly one was available. The one that became available, ASRock X370 Fatal1ty Gaming Pro, has the 5Gbps NIC. I probably wouldn't have hear...

Re: Manual setup for OpenVPN

Thank you for the settings/guide, encro . I made a few small adjustments to your config: client dev tun proto udp remote VPN_SERVER_ADDRESS_HERE 1198 resolv-retry infinite nobind persist-key persist-tun cipher aes-128-cbc keysize aes-128-cbc auth sha1 tls-client remote-cert-tls server tun-mtu 1500 t...

Re: Quota and restrictions not working when using OpenVPN

I am currently testing a Linksys WRT1200AC v1 (believe it to be Caiman, as I am showing 503.2MB of RAM) while I wait for a WRT3200ACM to be delivered, and enabling the VPN client breaks my Quotas. Haven't tested Restrictions. After poking around, I believe that the problem has something to do with h...

Re: 75 Mbps

No. Nothing is turned off. I also do not have quotas or QOS turned on. This is a more or less a default install of Gargoyle. That's interesting. I wonder if the penalty only occurs for devices/IPs that have a quota in place? I was under the impression that the BWMonitor would carry that penalty reg...

I even tried it with a file download. Google Chrome reported 110Mb/s download speed.
Is that with the BWMonitor turned off?

Re: 75 Mbps

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but I feel like this is all still relevant to the OP's original inquiry, so I hope no one minds. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a good deal on a 3200ACM/1900ACS. If I were to buy one at this very moment, the best deals available are for the 3200ACM. My only co...

Re: 75 Mbps

Lets try this another way.. Think I may be going into too much extraneous detail. Could you folks rate the performance penalty of the Bandwidth Monitor for each/any of these Linksys routers? 1) WRT3200ACM 2) WRT1900ACS 3) WRT1200ACS (probably best to say which version you're referencing for this one...

Re: 75 Mbps

I know, I know. I guess I must've bought both of my TP-Link routers when they were first coming out :\ The 5Ghz on the C7v1.1 was constantly dropping clients anyway, so I won't miss it. Just need it to do a little bit better than the Netgear 4300 until I can source a worthy replacement. I feel like ...

Re: 75 Mbps

Where the router is located isn't optimal for WiFi. There are rooms behind brick walls that don't receive the 5Ghz signal at all, so my plan is to stick the new Ubiquiti AC PRO I have coming on Monday up in the attic. I believe it will be able to get around/over the walls if I stick up high enough (...
