I wouldn't say that. You are doing double NAT (1x subnet 192.168.15.0/24 ISP router and 1x subnet 192.168.1.0/24 Gargoyle router).
I thought that but was just double-checking
Weird....

Re: Gargoyle router slowing down speed ?

I've got no further with this, but if the issue was the router capability why didn't I see the same behaviour with the ISPs router ?
It was working fine before they gave me the new router for the new wireless equipment....

Could it be some sort of IP conflicts or something ??

Re: Gargoyle router slowing down speed ?

OK - I don't really want to but if I don't get any better solutions I can I suppose.
I want all the built in monitoring that Gargoyle supports - without that I can just move to the router from the ISP

Re: Gargoyle router slowing down speed ?

In all probability, this will be due to a weak CPU (NAT + statistics overload the kernel). /etc/init.d/bwmon_gargoyle stop Using this command via ssh will turn off the bandwidth monitors, which should make it easier for the CPU and accelerate - this will be proof that the CPU is no longer enough. Gargoyle router slowing down speed ?

Hi all, I got an upgrade in my wireless broadband and I thought I was getting slower speeds than I had. Turns out that my Gargoyle router (sitting between me and my ISP's router) seems to be causing the problem. I'm on Gargoyle 1.8.1 on a TP-Link TL-WDR3600 v1 If I plug directly into the ISP Router ...
