Re: Version 1.14.0: Based on OpenWrt 22.03

Successfully flashed the following in the last month: 2 TP-Link Archer C7 v5 1 TP-Link Archer C7(US) v2.0 1 TP-Link TL-WR1043ND v2.1 It seemed that the TL-WR1043ND flash to 1.14.0 (from 1.13.0) went the smoothest and quickest, whereas the C7 v5s seemed to take the longest, and present more issues po...

Re: Feedback for new network

@donner - Jim Salter at Ars Technica has done some interesting work over the years setting up x86 routers - what he calls a "Homebrew Special." He seems to use Ubuntu Server for this, but it stands to reason you could use the x86 build of Gargoyle as well. Here are a few links to his repor...

Lantis - just PMed you a link.

Edit: Device is a TP-Link Archer C7 v5. Seen the same on a C7 v2 and A7 v5, so it would appear to affect the C7/A7 models across the board.

Re: 1.13.0.x gargoyle-ispy 2021-August-15 20

Lantis - I noticed you posted updated builds earlier today at: https://lantisproject.com/gargoyle_custom/1.13.x/ Do these address what appears (to me, at least) to be a problem with the 5Ghz signal calculations on the "Connected Hosts" page? Running your build from 20210904. I can't post a...

Re: NAS

christopher - similar to Lantis, I have two Synology DS218+ units running in different locations. Be careful with the newer Synology NAS units, however, because Synology has soldered in the OEM RAM chips, which limits your ability to upgrade to one SODIMM slot. This seems to apply to many of the x20...

Re: WAN Gateway IP reverse order on 1.13.X

Thanks Lantis; I'll look for the updated builds.

ispy - Didn't post the screenshots here as I didn't think posting my actual IP address was a good idea. Do you still need/want them?

WAN Gateway IP reverse order on 1.13.X

I recently moved two TP-Link Archer routers to 1.13.X, using the builds available at https://lantisproject.com/gargoyle_custom/1.13.x/. Thanks for those, btw. I have noticed some unusual behavior with regard to the WAN Gateway IP that appears in the WAN section of the Status page. These routers are ...

Re: checkmyip.com causing ddns plugin to update wrong IP

I have experienced the same thing using Namecheap's DDNS service - that is, DDNS IP addresses being changed to 10.20.10.22 in Namecheap's records. I eliminated the issue for the time being by pulling DDNS out of the loop, and going with static A records. My IP addresses (on two subdomains hosted by ...

Re: Repeater / 2nd AP / RelayD?

I would agree on the "wireless bridge" point; my experience with that has been hit-and-miss at best. May be "user error" to a certain extent, but still ... not something I would recommend. Just to clarify, when you say "turning it into a 'dumb switch' is the best configurati...

Re: Version 1.9.2

Wifi toggle button isn't working for 1043nd v2. Just resets instead. That is by design. If you want it to do something different there's plenty of info here and on other sites Oh right. Just found one of you scripts and changed it to make it work for the 1043nd. Thanks! Ricky, can you point out whe...
